ATTENTION MOUSE INFESTATION.. DO NOT COME HERE!!!
Me and my family are regular customers here and if we are not eating in then we are ordering takeaway. Last Friday my family came here (6 adults and 4 children). We ordered our food and drinks and as usual asked for some poppadoms whilst we wait.. We received 2 baskets of poppadoms and 2 sauce servers.. We ate one basket of poppadoms only to see at the bottom was an inch size hole in the side and mouse droppings.. We told the waiter who said its burnt poppadoms. As you can see in the pictures it's definitely not that.
We got up and said we want to cancel our order. The waiter tried charging us for our full order which we refused. He the tried charging us £64 for 10 poppadoms (75p each), dips 2x onion chutney, 2x mango chutney and 2x pickle (75p each as stated on their menu) and drinks (4x cokes 3.95 each, mango juice 2.50, 2x mango lassi 4.50 each & 1 orange juice). The waiter tried lying about the prices of the drinks until we had to go through each item on their menu. Then he tried claiming they charge each person £3 per person per poppadom (75p for each chutney plus poppadom). This is rediculous and not stated in their menu. So in total was charged £30 just for the poppadoms whilst we waited
We asked the waiter when he last had a pest control visit and he said 2 weeks prior. There were mice poison is the toilets so there's obviously an infestation somewhere. The waiter had such an attitude towards us because we were obviously upset. No apology was given from the restaurant.
Please be warned about the dodgy pricing as well as a mouse...
Read moreI don’t normally go online to write a review, but this experience surpasses anything I have ever experienced as a customer. We ate. The food was average. We got the bill. Realised they overcharged us. We asked the waiter/owner if it was correct. He was having none of it. We went through each item on the bill with them. It was so obvious we were overcharged. They then started making up the numbers. They charged us £6 for two papadoms. They justified this by charging us per pickle pot, per person, per papadom. It was not clear from the menu that they would do this. (In fact, it is so ridiculous, it worked out that two papadoms cost more than the main curry). They overcharged us for the drinks claiming they were mixers even though we didn’t have it mixed. We had no choice but to pay this ridiculous made-up price. We were in a rush otherwise I would have waited it out until he got me the right bill. When we went up to pay, I said I was sorry and that I normally don’t complain, but…. The owner interrupted me and said “I don’ think so mam, I think you do this all the time”. At this point, he and his staff started laughing at us. We were basically laughed out of the restaurant. I couldn’t believe it. I don’t think paying customers should be left feeling humiliated and cheated of their money. Do yourself a favour, never ever go there!!!! And please share. They have no...
Read moreFantastic! We live locally and struggled to find a traditional Indian restaurant, but this really does fit the bill with delicious authentic Indian food. We had a range of starters, as well as Pathia and Balti mains and could not fault any of it. In fact it is some of the best traditional Indian food we’ve had for a long time anywhere. The ingredients are fresh and the tastes are spot on and you can tell that the chef knows how to cook a whole range of dishes. I imagine all dishes on the menu are to the same standard and quality and intend to find out soon! We were served by the owner, Ali, who was a great host and would even adapt dishes to your taste and requirements if needed. It is very easy to get a table it seems any day of the week, even at short notice or by just turning up without the booking. The prices are extremely reasonable and they serve good bottled beer and good wine. I would happily travel to this restaurant but I’m lucky...
