This was hands down one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in London. The hygiene was absolutely disgraceful – dirty floors, unclean tables, and a washroom so filthy I was genuinely afraid to use it. If this is how they treat the front of house, I dread to imagine the condition of the kitchen. It’s shocking that a place like this is even allowed to operate under UK hygiene standards. We were a group of 7 and ordered 2 platters – nothing fancy – and were charged an outrageous £120. For that price, you’d expect decent service and at least some basic professionalism. But no – when we asked for sharing plates, they handed us a random mix of 3 different plates and small bowls, clearly not enough for 7 people. It honestly felt like they were just making things up as they went. When I asked for a menu, the staff member literally said “I am the menu” – no joke – and then proceeded to mumble some items that were impossible to understand. No printed menu, no display, no prices listed, nothing. The staff were completely untrained, disorganized, and didn’t seem to care at all. Between the filthy environment, the terrible service, the lack of any clear communication, and the ridiculously high price, this place was an absolute joke. I didn’t feel safe eating here, and none of us enjoyed the experience. Do not waste your money or risk your health here. There are plenty of clean, honest, and professional restaurants in London – this is NOT one of them

Very disappointing experience — not worth the journey I travelled all the way from Ilford (East London) to try Brothers Restaurant in North London after hearing good things, but honestly, this was a huge letdown. It took me over an hour to get there, and everything from the environment to the food and service was just below basic standards. The toilets were unclean, with staff clothes hanging inside and no tissues available. That alone was very off-putting. We came specifically for the platter for two that includes lamb shank and chicken rice, but we were told the lamb was finished. I don’t eat beef, so I asked if we could get a chicken version of the platter instead, and they said no — we could only order separate chicken dishes. We ended up ordering the chicken steak, and it was absolutely not worth the price. The plate looked like leftovers — just three small pieces of chicken (one of them burnt), thrown on a plate with no care. The portion wasn’t even enough for one person, let alone to share. The staff didn’t seem to understand English well, and the table wasn’t even cleaned when we arrived. Overall, it felt like a complete waste of time and money. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was truly a terrible experience. I won’t be coming back.

Disappointed Experience During Iftar

I travelled all the way from Central London to eat from brothers, ordered a takeaway for my family and friends for iftar, which by the way I’ve had brothers before & it’s always something! But now it’s an absolute piss take.

I was fasting and planned ahead by calling the restaurant 50 minutes in advance to place my order. Everything seemed fine at the time, he asked me to call back when I’m 20mins near arrival.

About 20 minutes before arrival, they took the order and confirmed it. I called again to let them know we were close. When we finally parked up, I rang to ask if the food was ready before stepping in. They said yes.

But when I went in to collect the food, literally at the time to break my fast, I was told “sorry, I just gave your order to someone else” and that they had nothing left to offer as it was the last of the food.

I mentioned that I had just spoken to him and he said ‘yeah I know what can I do’.

It was incredibly disappointing, especially after fasting all day and travelling such a long way. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of care and accountability in such a situation, particularly during Ramadan, was frustrating and upsetting.

I hope they take more care in the future with pre-orders, especially during such an important time for many of...
