Great interiors, but the food and drinks were a major let down. Went in for a casual brunch, but their breakfasts don’t include hashbrowns or mushrooms? We opted for burgers instead. For a £17.50 main burger it had horrible presentation. Burger was disappointing and it felt like it was put together by an amateur, fillings were cut too thick for a proper bite to be possible. Most of the flavour from the first bite was the huge cut of raw onion in the middle, the brioche buns used felt old and dry and the tart reflected this. I tried the plant patty which was very clearly just store bought and heated up, cheese used hadn’t even melted on properly (might have been vegan cheese though so this isn’t too big of a deal on their part). Frankly just incredibly disappointed with this kind of food at this price point. The side fries were the only redeeming factor, crispy and well cooked, portion was smaller than expected though. Service was decent but nothing extraordinary, had to download an app and create an account just to be able to order food after waiting for upwards of 15 minutes to be served by someone. Last but not least, they did not have any takeaway boxes, we were given pieces of tinfoil to wrap up our leftovers, frankly not a problem, but I would expect such a nice establishment to be better prepared. Simply put, not worth the visit.

Strange experience at this restaurant last week. We had to confirm our booking a couple of times to in the end arrive in an almost empty restaurant. It smells to old frying fat. The waiter spoke very poor English. First he started with mentioning what was not available and the list was long. We ordered some bread with butter for 10 people to share a bit. When it arrived we had to laugh he brought 10 times 2 sandwiches what was he thinking! Of course we did send it back. Food that arrived was acceptable. We ordered deserts and the kids already started making jokes about that it is not available. And indeed, he came back, no brownies, no this. He offered the kids ice cream with liquor.... It is a pity, location is nice, venue is nice but you can make so much more of this place.

We visited The Riverside on Sunday for a sunday roast. We were a party of 3 and were greeted and seated by the lovely hostess Miraine, She was so welcoming and accommodating and ensured we were well looked after. The roast dinner was beautiful. We each opted for a different meat. We had turkey, pork, and beef. All were cooked perfectly and accompanied by the most delicious (and huge) yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables, and roast potatoes. I highly recommend visiting this lovely restaurant overlooking the Thames. Especially if you value high-quality food with high standard service in a clean and beautifully presented establishment. Thank you for a wonderful visit, and we look forward to returning!

Booked an area for a large group with plenty of notice. Trying to understand what are options were to pre-order was strenuous and 4 days before the booking I had an email advising I needed to pre-order within a few hours. I still had questions but no-one came back to me despite the chase.

Eventually got some food pre-ordered as a favour (hmm) but no confirmation and no opportunity to pay in advance. No discounts on pre-ordering larger quantities of drinks.

Arrived nearly 15 mins after our booking (I’d advised we were coming from a local event), was hard to find a host and got a bit of a scalding from quite an unhappy member of staff. Was shown the area (filled with people which was fine but we had to clear the leftover drinks!) and was asked when to bring food. We asked asap and it did come within a reasonable time and the sliders were nice. However trying to sort food for a celiac was hard work (she was asked to read through a huge folder?!) and was eventually told only chips and pardon peppers were available. Then she was told the peppers weren’t available because we didn’t pre-order and then when the chips came out, the host brought a gluten free burger and chips and advised the meal (not solo chips) would be FOC (she hadn’t asked for it). It certainly wasn’t. That meal cost us a nice £28!

Drinks took 25 minutes to arrive and half of it was warm. Client was not impressed! Lots of miscommunication between the staff which was tiresome.

Toilets were disgusting with only one working soap and had to ask for toilet roll to be restocked (and now as they went to do something else first).

When we were asked to move inside after 10, we were left to carry our own drinks in etc and then the couple of plant burgers left were shortly seen after hanging out one of the staff members mouth as he walked around trying to offer out the two others. I’m all for no waste but that was just quite distasteful.

Look, the weather was incredible and when we arrived late evening it was evident it had been very busy but the experience start to finish was pretty poor, it didn’t improve when the it got quiet. When I politely refused to pay the service charge I wasn’t even asked why/ was offered an apology, etc - it’s obvious there’s no care and that’s a real shame.

I know it’s a tough industry, I worked in it doing every job imaginable for a good number of years, but I have to say I wouldn’t recommend visiting here unless it’s perhaps the only place along the river you can find for a quick pint. A real shame and thank gawd the event beforehand had put us in good spirits. Young’s need to...

I visited the pub with friends, and we were met with a series of issues that left us thoroughly dissatisfied with our visit.

Upon arrival, we had to wait an unreasonable amount of time before being served. The staff seemed to lack proper training and were painfully slow in their service. It was evident that they were not fully aware of their job responsibilities, which contributed to the slow service.

When we ordered the English breakfast, we requested our eggs to be scrambled, but our request was inexplicably denied. It's perplexing that such a simple request could not be accommodated, and this left us feeling quite frustrated.

The pub's management also seemed to be lacking, as there was a disruptive customer who hovered over our drinks at the bar while the staff were preparing them. This individual proceeded to engage us in conversation, and despite his intrusive behavior, no staff members intervened or addressed the situation.

To make matters worse, when our food finally arrived, the quality was severely lacking. The beans were cold, and the mushrooms were so tough that they were difficult to cut with a knife. To top it all off, we discovered that the Tabasco sauce provided was past its expiration date.

In conclusion, our visit to this pub was marred by a series of issues that reflect poorly on the establishment's management, staff training, and food quality. I cannot recommend this pub to others, and I strongly urge potential patrons to consider alternative options for a more enjoyable and professionally managed...
