This is my second time to visit. There is a very good vibe of Asian Disco music and great food and drink quality. I’ve ordered the Earl Grey Bubble Milk Tea which is a fresh combination between English and Taiwanese. the Chargrilled Chilli Scallop, which is so complex on the taste, mix with chilli maple butter, crispy chicken skin and Vermicelli, reminds me back to my memory of Hong Kong restaurant Food and Vietnamese food. Another twist on Kaya French Toast with Jasmine Clotted Cream, reminds me back to Singapore street food. Just a little bit disappointed on one mistake that they missed out my ticket to make this French toast, finally I need to wait 20 mins and I asked one staff, he asked me to wait, then I waited until 40 mins to ask the manager again. He told the kitchen lost my ticket…which I feel ridiculously to wait without update from any of them. I understand they have busy orders but it doesn’t mean to miss communications. Finally turn out the manager apologise to me and offer me a free cocktail of cucumber & green apple sour and exclude the charge of the toast from my bill. This compensation makes more making sense to me as a long waiting customer. Overall, I hope they could do better management next time. I would love to visit them again.

(P.S. one more touching thing from the bartender, Emma, she is good observation and actively showed me what the name of the song is when I feel curious to search from my Shazam app about the song they were playing. Also she is friendly to tell me her idea of making the fresh and creative cocktail 😌 it doesn’t feel alcoholic which I...

We had a really bad experience at Bun House Disco on Saturday night. In short, we had a booking at 7:00pm but were made to order, eat and leave in less than an hour with no warning, while being made super uncomfortable by the staff.

We'd booked a table for 7pm, and the waiter initially tried to sit us at a table for two (when we had three people). We had just ordered our first round (around 7:10) when the waiter came back and told us they were taking last orders due to an event at 9pm. That meant not only could we not order any more drinks with our meal (which was frustrating because they got our drink order wrong anyway!) but we were trying to eat in the middle of tables and chairs being packed up. We eventually left around 8pm as the atmosphere was super uncomfortable and awkward - the staff were carrying furniture all around us and then just hovered around waiting for us to leave. If we'd been told about the event when booking (which was done several weeks in advance!) or even when we were seated, we could have made the decision to go somewhere else or change the reservation, but they waited until after we'd been sat and ordered. It would have been easy communicate more effectively and manage our expectations but the staff were really dismissive and it felt like they just wanted our custom and money and didn't care about our experience. I won't be recommending this place to anyone in a hurry - it was super disappointing and we ended up going somewhere else afterward for...

Food was amazing that much can be said for this place, however myself and my wife were out as we regularly are in east london and she is pregnant might I add, I literally said to her nip in and ask to use their toilet as previous customers who are quite recognisable I thought there should not be an issue with this to be honest we were going to go grab one more item from up the road and come back for lunch, however my wife returned embarrassed and upset due to the nature of the staffs tone in the store I immediately said surely not, so I got off my motorbike and walked in and asked once again could she use the toilet, now no one said, that they had to say yes but the tone of the staff the look of absolute disgust at being asked if someone may "specifically a pregnant woman could use the toilets was beyond disrespectful, the disgraceful act of being disrespectful and the tones used was like yeah let's leave it there before someone goes to prison for disciplining these kids, now I have to think about if you actually wash your hands before making the food, the levels of disrespect were a joke 25 years ago would've been a different outcome, needless to say FOOD was 10/10 but the service and attitude of the staff absolutely disgraceful.

I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. thanks but no thanks if you cannot treat people with respect you do not deserve...

This place was a typical TikTok/Instagram spot, but it was the worst Cantonese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The music was so loud that we had to shout to be heard, and it gave me a headache. Not everyone was rude, but one man was particularly obnoxious. Our booking slot was shown online from 7pm to 10pm, and while we were waiting for everyone to arrive, he came over and urged us to order quickly. He even claimed that our booking only lasted two hours, which was different from what we had seen online. We ordered five types of baozi, wanton noodles, pork belly, stir-fried eggplant, katsu curry, and kaya toast. The kaya toast was smaller than a palm, and the wanton noodles tasted like instant noodles. The egg custard bun was completely different from the authentic Cantonese egg custard buns. The filling was way too runny and sweet without any saltiness. After we paid the bill, the rude man came back to our table and pressured us to leave immediately while there were some empty tables, nobody was in the queue, and it was still within the “two-hour” booking slot he had claimed earlier. Overall, it became a good lesson for us not to trust TikTok or Instagram anymore. It might be a nice place for people who don’t mind paying a lot but prefer a cool vibe for a night out.

✔ Lao Ji Wonton (Dan Dan style): A wild, delicious fusion—think hot dry noodles meets Sichuan peppercorns with a chili oil kick. Unique and addictive! ✔ Fermented Black Bean Fish: Sweet, umami-rich, and tender with a smoky depth—nothing like Lao Gan Ma (in the best way). ✔ Crispy Squid: Bridgehead-style seasoning, though we wished it came in rings for extra crunch. Next time, pairing it with claypot rice like the table next to us! ✔ Watermelon Drink: A showstopper—refreshing minty mojito vibes (sans alcohol) with Insta-worthy presentation. (Add mint or salt rim for extra ✨.) Toilets: Straight out of an escape room (peep my last photo—you’ve been warned 😂). Lunch vs. Dinner: Menus differ! We scored the coveted wonton noodle dinner, but now I’m curious about daytime offerings. Dim Sum Tweaks: The "mix sauce" cheung fun and buns lean Euro-adapted (e.g., beef bits vs. chunks in bao), but the custard buns are pure sweet nostalgia. Only regret? Missing the煲仔饭—saw a genius diner dunking squid into it, and now I’m haunted. Final Verdict: A sensory blast—great for vibes, bold flavors, and quirky surprises. Just maybe skip the港式奶茶 if you value sleep… (RIP my 2am REM cycle.)
