I have been here for the past 6 years and I come here every few months for a treat. It used be very friendly, good quality and decent sized sushi that takes you back to Japan.
However, since last year the Cashier Lady seemed to have an absolute attitude and very unwelcoming… Rolling back her eyes, sighing, looking very offended when you asking a question, makes you feel like you’d rather not dine there with her terrible attitude. All other staff are always very polite, except her.
The portion size has become tiny, the sushi rice is size of half of my thumb when it used to be a full thumb size. Fish quality seemed to be ok still and I do enjoy the special menus.
I was a die hard fan of this place, a real foodie and I always recommend/ bring my friends to try. But lately, I was reluctant to do and it’s a real shame! I had to write a review as the cashier’s attitude really needs to be addressed since she will eventually be the main reason for me to stop...
Read moreThe services and atmosphere was okay but the food was overpriced and an absolute atrocity to Japanese food.
We had the Take Sushi set and the seafood was clearly not fresh. The fish and shellfish had ‘wrinkles’, a sign that it had been pre-cut and left out in the fridge for a while.
For the hot food items like the udon, curry rice and takoyaki, it probably came from a cheap microwave meal. You could hear the microwave going off, just before any of the dishes were bought to our table. The udon was overcooked, the curry barely had any carrots and the takoyaki was so mushy you would’ve have thought they were serving mushy peas. The portions were so small, I thought I had been served a kids meal. The curry and udon tasted fine but it was no different from the ready made udon packets and Golden Curry cubes that you’ll find in Asian supermarkets.
I’ve had way better food from convenience stores....
Read moreA no-fuss sushi spot in Shoreditch that honestly surprised me - reasonably priced and some of the best quality sushi I’ve had this side of London.
It’s the closest thing I’ve found to my Japan trip, so I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Maybe we got lucky with off peak hours, but the fish was fresh and the service was great. Pictures speak for themselves.
Here’s what we loved:
⭐️ Salmon Sashimi - thick, soft, and super fresh
⭐️ Tuna Sashimi - surprisingly good quality, which is rare in London
⭐️ Eel Nigiri - a bit pricier, but always worth it for me
⭐️ Scallop Nigiri - sweet, soft, and melt in my mouth good
⭐️ Otoro Nigiri - the one that brought me back to Japan. Hard to find this good at this price point
It’s not a spot for fancy dinners or high end vibes, but if you’re after solid sushi at a decent price with zero...
