The latest but (sadly) not greatest food hype gets the full-on proper hipster treatment. Firstly, the guys on shift were impeccable, they were fast, friendly and efficient. Highly impressed. For me the stripped back affair was enjoyable, a clean, and quaint setup, the simple take away only menu was reasonably priced (£9 for a classic cheese burger at time of writing) I’ve heard the wait times can be excessive, but maybe I got lucky? (about 8mins from ordering to receiving the goods.) Regarding the food, it was just fine. A pair of pretty thin smash patties topped with cheese were a little overcooked for my taste, it was well seasoned and the sauce was ok. I think if I’m being totally transparent; Bleecker burger, burger & beyond and patty & bun still offer a tastier meal, albeit slightly pricier than what Dumbo have on offer. One plus I have to commend however is that I didn’t feel ‘bleurgh’ after eating it. Was the hype real? No. Was I blown away? No. Would I go again? Yes. Would I recommend you try? Yes. Even if only once.

Alright, if you're into that simple-yet-perfect burger vibe, you've gotta check this place out. It's a concept from Paris I think? And while the menu is super minimal (honestly, basically 4 things on their menu), their cheeseburger is genuinely amazing! Think of it as a deluxe McDonald's cheeseburger, but in the absolute best way possible. They've totally mastered that sweet spot of quality ingredients with a stripped-down approach. It's just a cheeseburger, plain and simple, but the balance is spot on. I could seriously eat a ton of these. I didn't get to the fries this time, but they're definitely on my list for the next visit. Just a heads up: it's takeaway only, and the line can get pretty long, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Totally worth it for that burger though.

I was very curious to try this very hyped burger. Luckily it was early on a Sunday afternoon with really bad weather, so there was no queue ( normally the queue outside is massive ). I ordered the cheeseburger and the fries. I decided to eat in. I went in and the seating area is at the back, just a few small tables with stools. The burger and the fries came and the pic shows accurately what I got. I must say I was underwhelmed as it looked like a lodged up version of a mc Donald cheeseburger. The fries were decent but cold. The burger was really nothing special. The service was very friendly and nice. I must say that I’m glad I did not queue as this place does not deserve a visit. Im unsure why there is so much hype. I wouldn’t consider visiting this again.

I tried this out because of the peer pressure from the long queues I saw. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised at how good it was! A really simple, understated, yet excellent burger.

A terribly fresh brioche bun with fantastic dry-aged minced beef, simple sliced American cheese (I believe), all coming together to create this warm, loving bite of a burger.

Pro tip: ask them to cook your burger medium so it doesn’t dry out. The fries were excellent, seasoned with some sort of house seasoning. The chicken nuggets were probably the best thing on the menu. A crispy exterior, juicy interior, and they felt handmade with a lot of care.

Overall, I was shocked at how good it was. Pls, do not expect anything over the top. It is a simple burger made right, which is exactly what they set out to do. Someone near me said it was a 6/10. Honestly, I thought he was being dishonest for controversy’s sake. A friend of mine also felt it wasn’t flashy enough, but I reminded her that it’s not meant to be a bells-and-whistles burger.

All in all, I would travel from far and wide just to have this burger again. It was that good. This is proof that simple sometimes does work and works very well!

A solid...

Distinctly average burger, one hour wait for food.

Honestly, it was nothing special. Shake shack does far better smash burgers (and the best in my opinion). You queue outside in the street for an hour (because hype is hype) which is challenging enough as a prospect, but the food was underwhelming.

The positive: the nuggets were genuinely pretty good. Think an ever so slightly healthier taste (although still fried and delicious) McNuggets the staff were pretty friendly and upbeat

The negative the burger was pretty dry, not enough sauce and genuinely disappointing after the long wait the chips were OK. Nothing special

(Sort of) fun to do once. No need to ever repeat. I would imagine the business model would be to eventually move to online orders because the wait time vs taste is just...
