I dined here on May 29th- sorry for the late review!

We visited just before going to see Onegin at the Royal Opera House- this place is a short two minute walk from the opera house and is within a lively shopping area. The restaurant itself feels like an outdoor place but you’re really within a walled enclosure with large windows facing outwards. The noise from the shopping area can be clearly heard within the place making it feel jarring and prevent you from having a peaceful meal. To make matters worse, we were placed near a staff area and constant traffic from that area was not pleasant.

It was very busy when we went (Saturday evening) so the restaurant was at full capacity and they were running out of things on the menu (specifically the lobster roll which has gotten such good reviews!) which was disappointing. In the end, I ordered the crispy chicken satay buns with the chilli beef as a main. The chicken buns were delicious, and I felt they were very flavourful and filling in a good way. I had never tried chicken satay before but thanks to the experience here I am now able to try it in other places! Now it came to the main, which was delivered quickly since the venue gives you a table for at least an hour and a half.

The chilli beef was a complete let down to the start of the meal which I had enjoyed. It was salty, and the rice was hard. There didn’t seem to be any flavour in the chilli and it was very oily. There was an egg placed on top of the rice which didn’t really add any flavour at all to the meal and made me feel a little sickly afterwards. (And I really like egg fried rice, so what happened this time?) Having the main completely ruined the meal, and to make matters worse, the chilli beef was priced at £20- it felt far from being worth that much money. My companions also felt the same that the main meals offered to us were extremely inferior to the buns offered and had wished that we never ordered a main meal at all.

After eating, we all wanted to leave the loud restaurant and continue with our day, but due to the extremely busy atmosphere in the restaurant and the loud noises surrounding it, none of the waiters noticed that we wanted to get our bill for over 20 minutes: close to the time they were expecting us to leave. Beforehand we had received pleasant service from a singular waiter: but in the end, they were nowhere to be found after we had finished our meal.

Once we received our bill, we were all gobsmacked to see how expensive dining at this place really turned out to be: £170 for three people ordering a starter, one drink and a main each! We did not believe that our experience here was even worth that much money, but I assume the weighted prices were due to location and possibly ingredients for the meal, which I would assume were not well used at all for the mains!

Overall, I wouldn’t come back here again. But if you find the buns here to be descriptively mouthwatering, I suggest you come here to...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Buns & Buns in Covent Garden – A Heavenly Bakery Experience!

If you're strolling through Covent Garden and craving something sweet, savory, or just downright delicious, Buns & Buns is an absolute must-visit! This charming bakery and café is a hidden gem, offering an irresistible selection of freshly baked buns, pastries, and artisanal treats that will leave you coming back for more.

🍞 The Buns: Pure Perfection The star of the show here is, of course, the buns—soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory, Buns & Buns has you covered: Cinnamon Swirl Bun – Buttery, gooey, and perfectly spiced, this is a dream for cinnamon lovers. Salted Caramel Bun – A rich, sticky delight with just the right balance of sweet and salty. Cheese & Herb Bun – A savory option that’s flaky, cheesy, and utterly addictive. Chocolate & Hazelnut Bun – Decadent and indulgent, like a gourmet pain au chocolat but better.

Every bite is a testament to the bakery’s commitment to quality ingredients and expert baking. The dough is light yet satisfying, with fillings that are generous but never overwhelming.

☕ Coffee & More No bakery experience is complete without a great cup of coffee, and Buns & Buns delivers. Their specialty coffee (made with carefully sourced beans) pairs perfectly with their pastries. If you're not a coffee fan, they also offer a selection of teas, hot chocolate, and fresh juices.

🏡 Cozy & Inviting Atmosphere Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, the café has a warm, rustic charm with wooden accents, soft lighting, and a relaxed vibe. Whether you grab a seat by the window for some people-watching or settle into a cozy corner, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The staff are friendly, attentive, and passionate about their buns—don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations!

📍 Why Visit? ✔ Freshly baked daily – You can smell the goodness from the street! ✔ Great for breakfast, lunch, or a snack – Perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely treat. ✔ Instagram-worthy – The buns are almost too pretty to eat (almost!). ✔ Central location – Just a short walk from Covent Garden Market and nearby shops.

Final Verdict: Buns & Buns is a little slice of bakery heaven in one of London’s busiest areas. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place deserves a spot on your foodie bucket list. 5/5 stars – a must-try for any pastry lover!

📌 Pro Tip: Get there early—the best buns sell out fast! And don’t forget to leave a review on Google Maps to spread the love. 🥐💛

Buns and Buns: A Flavourful Feast in Covent Garden

Buns and Buns in Covent Garden is a must-visit for food lovers seeking a vibrant and delicious Asian dining experience. The lively atmosphere, coupled with an extensive menu, makes it an ideal spot for sharing with friends or family.

We kicked off our culinary adventure with a mouthwatering array of starters. The Spicy Tempura Shrimp, with its crispy exterior and fiery Tobajan sauce, was an instant hit. The Spicy Salmon On Crispy Rice offered a delightful contrast of textures and flavours, while the Wagyu Beef Gyoza was tender and packed with flavour.

The star of the show, however, was the buns. The Crispy Satay Chicken Buns were a perfect blend of sweet and savoury, with the crunchy exterior adding an extra dimension. The Mac Buns were a playful twist on a classic, and the Fried Chicken Buns were crispy and satisfying. For seafood lovers, the Chilli Prawns Buns and Prawn Dumplings were a must-try.

To complement our starters, we indulged in the Parmesan Truffle Fries, which were golden, crispy, and irresistibly addictive. The Jasmine Rice was a simple yet perfect accompaniment to the main courses.

For our mains, we opted for a mix of flavours. The Prime Tenderloin Black Pepper was cooked to perfection, with the scallions adding a fresh element. The Chicken Satay was tender and flavourful, while the Chilli Beef offered a spicy kick. The fried egg on the Chilli Beef was a delightful touch.

Buns and Buns is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious food in a vibrant setting. With its extensive menu, including Halal options, there’s something to satisfy everyone. The friendly service added to the overall enjoyable experience. We can't wait to return to explore more...

Buns and Buns is a wholesome establishment. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and ensured your dietary needs are accounted for. The staff arranged for two dishes to be prepared vegan as requested which was very thoughtful. The ingredients were fresh and of excellent quality. The presentation was superb; I recommend this establishments - especially to the vegetarian and vegan community.
