I visited the newly open branch in Borough Yards on mid-afternoon 07/08/222, with a friend. Overall, my experience was disappointing and I will probably not be visiting again for a while, as neither the food but most importantly nor the service were remotely inviting but rather dysfunctional and not worth the effort. First appearances matter: the restaurant was at less than 50% capacity when we visited but we waited at the door for a good 2-3min trying to catch a member of staff’s attention to be seated. On this point, we couldn’t tell who was staff! Whilst I am not suggesting people should wear a “uniform”, there has to be something to identify them, a badge, an apron... whatever. But really, the front of the house should do exactly that: pay attention to the front of the house! The space was very warm, unsure if there is aircon installed or not (defo not on the day). We were not seated close to the kitchen but after leaving our clothes had absorbed the smokiness of the place and this lingered for many hours, ventilation is poor. We got seated, offered the menu. We asked for tap water, this never came. We asked again, eventually a bottle of water came – this was room temp (remember: hot day, v warm space). We ordered our food and drinks. Our food came, our drinks not. We asked again. I had seen our drinks sitting on the bar counter for a good 20min – 2 x lemonades. Came with ice melted; did the bartender tell anyone that our drinks were ready? I ordered the bacon butter burger, my friend ordered the bougie burger, both medium. Sides needed to be ordered extra. My burger came as expected, medium but my friend’s was more of a steak tartare! Err, didn’t see that on the menu? She asked for a new burger and was eventually given a cheese burger instead – essentially she paid the price of a burger she didn’t eat! The waitress took away her cutlery, unsure why but probably to replace it, and never came but with another set. We asked again, waited and waited in vain. Eventually, I reached over to another table and picked up a set. On the day we visited the restaurant had a food promotion – without it, I would have been very reluctant to pay the service charge. In summary, very poor service, poor value for money. Staff appear to lack training, including communication and people’s skills. Food is not of the sort one would come back for; other similar venues offer much, much better quality of food. Whomever is in charge of this place, please consider not employing your friend or cousin or your best mate’s sister if they have no experience in hospitality. At the very least offer them training. Maybe they will improve with time, but I won’t be finding out...

I visited here on a Thursday evening, 27/3/25, at around 7:30pm. It was busy inside but there were tables available yet my friend and I were made to wait outside until the staff member could seat us. We ordered a drink and then proceeded to have sit out in the cold for nearly 40 minutes, with staff members just walking by and telling us that they'd come back to us, whenever we tried to get their attention. I eventually went in and complained, as we saw numerous people arrive after us and were seated inside almost immediately. It was only the fact that I complained, that we were eventually given a table inside. We were given menus and then waited for 15 minutes before any servers came over to our table. We both ordered burgers, with sides and sauces, our order was out pretty quick however they'd forgotten our sauces and we had to go and ask another server to get them for us. The food was delicious, and I would recommend the food, however the service is appalling. It's like all of the staff were on work experience or it was their first day, I cannot believe that in such a busy spot that the staff don't know the basics. We never had any service checks and then when the bill came it had an added 'discretionary' 12.5% service charge. I would always look to tip and am happy to pay a service change but when you don't get service, why would I pay it!? We asked for it to be taken off the bill and this was received with utter disgust, which was baffling. if you don't receive good service then why should you be expected to pay for it!! I'd recommend the food but not this restaurant unfortunately, there's better places to eat...

This place ruined our evening. We had a reservation booked as we love the original restaurant in Shoreditch. Unfortunately, when we arrived we weren’t seated for 15 minutes, despite there clearly being empty tables inside the restaurant. We let it go because it’s day 2 of them opening and likely still finding their feet. When we were sat it was arguably one of the worst tables in the place, sandwiched closely between other tables with the walkway next to us so staff and guests kept bumping into us constantly. It was annoying because we booked, and we saw much nicer tables being given to walk ins minutes later. we were given a free shot as an apology for the lateness which was appreciated. That was where the good service ended unfortunately. We ordered starters and cocktails, 40 minutes later our starter arrived and we still had no drinks. The waiter with the hat was particularly rude and tried to make us order burgers despite us telling him we wanted our drinks first. He then took our starter away while we waited for our drinks. 10 minutes later and no drinks had arrived still, my partner got up and told what looked to be the manager that we were leaving as we hadn’t consumed anything that we’d ordered 45 minutes in. Our drinks then turned up as we were walking out, only for the waiter in the hat to chase us out of the restaurant yelling loudly at us in front of everyone. It was shocking, I have never experienced such dreadful customer service in my life. He really let his team and company down. Needless to say we will never return to this branch, and tell everyone we know to avoid also. I’d give it...

Their website says “London’s best burgers” and with a claim like that we had to verify… My boyfriend selected the ‘famous’ double stacked boujee burger with fries and he was very impressed. If you order this prepare to get your hands dirty as they’re pretty generous with the bone marrow gravy. The burger was packed with beefy flavour and the patties themselves still had a nice pink centre resulting in perfectly tender and juicy meat. The fries were nice and crispy. As a non beef eater, I chose the krispie fried chicken burger… and no I didn’t spell that incorrectly, the chicken was coated in Rice Krispies and then deep fried. I’ve never heard a crunch quite like it! It was hands down the crispiest burger I’ve ever had. I was concerned that this would make for dry chicken however this was not the case; it was lovely and moist inside the ‘krispie’ coating. To accompany my burger I ordered truffle tater tots. They were incredible! Deliciously naughty and cheating with truffle, Parmesan and a rich mayo. You have to give them a go. To finish we were very kindly given a complimentary dessert to celebrate the big birthday. It was a delicious combination of biscoff, brownie, vanilla icecream goodness. We were so full from the mains that we didnt think we’d want it but after the first taste the rest went down almost too easily… it barely touched the sides! As Jules would say.. that is a tasty burger. And it sure was a tasty burger. If you could imagine a cheese burger in your head you’d want it to be exactly like this one. Meat was cooked well and remained juicy, plenty of melted cheese and the mayo was excellent. Visited on a Monday evening in January so only one other table sat down. Service was friendly. Got the choice of a free dessert or a drink as we were there celebrating a birthday. Will be back again to try the other burger options and a few of the other sides. 🍔 Edited after second visit….. this time the place was much busier so sadly the poor service really showed. 10 minutes after sitting down I had to ask for menus, each time I had to get the staffs attention to order. Burgers were still good, chicken burger was tasty and crispy. Don’t think I’ll be back again the poor service really did let it down the second time. According to an email I received I didn’t even turn up for my booking, so really should what attention they were paying to who walked through the door. Disappointing.

First of all, I would like to say the staff and food were great. None of the starters we wanted nor any milkshakes were available - no big deal. My problem was with the environment. We were seated next to the toilet. The restaurant was packed and after waiting this was the only available table (we did book in advance as was advised). My husband was constantly jostled by people going to and from the toilet bumping into the back of his chair. The toilet door was constantly left open and one guy went in and didn't even fully close the door whilst using it! The walkways were very narrow so people queuing for and leaving the loo were pushing past each other very close to our table. I understand they need to make the most of the space to make money, but at least install a door closer or a divider at the end of the tables please. Having to eat our meal in such close proximity to a public toilet was not enjoyable. You wouldn't choose to eat a meal in your own home staring into your own toilet let alone one used by strangers, would you?
