Cafe Carmen — Restaurant in London

RUDE service, counter girl left bag open on counter, facing sideways, when I picked it up, the pastry flew out of bag and onto floor, asked girl " may I have another?" she said "No." That's it, just "no", Not "sorry, no", just "no", then she turned away and went back to her conversation with coworker. I paid for a pastry and got nothing. I looked at my pastry on the floor and considered picking it up and chucking it at their heads because of the careless service. She did not even come to clean it up, just left it on the floor. Also, the tables were dirty and sticky. Perhaps I was better off not eating there. Perhaps others would be better off not...

The hot chocolate here was great, unfortunately that's where my praise ends. My wife who has a gluten and wheat allergy asked if there was anything she could eat which she was told no. It seems crazy how there wasn't a a single item for allergy suffers to have meaning they'd have to go hungry. Also the lack of toilets was frustrating as we had to find...

Lovely breakfast location if you enjoy a croissant or pain au chocolate! Got there as they opened (highly recommend this approach as they can fill up almost instantly!) and to our surprise, we got a table with by far the best views of the Houses of Parliament across the bridge!

Well worth the £20(ish) I paid for two full stomachs!
