Chatora The City is one of those places that you don’t just enjoy – you remember. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted like old friends, not just customers. The staff were so warm and welcoming, it instantly set the tone for what turned out to be a brilliant evening.
The whole place feels really well put together – cosy, stylish, super clean, and full of little details that make you feel like someone actually cared when they designed it.
Now the food. Oh wow, the food. Everything we had was absolutely bursting with flavour. Just a heads-up – if you're not big on spice, have a quick chat with the staff before you order. They're super helpful and will guide you to something that won’t blow your head off.
I had the Black Sheep Keema Pav and it was hands-down fantastic. Rich, comforting, and served with two buns that honestly smelled like melted butter and joy. Then came the slow-cooked lamb and I still dream about it. The meat was so tender it just fell apart – no effort required. My friend had the chicken with black beans and we were both doing that thing where you're way too full but just can’t stop eating because everything tastes so good. The naan definitely didn’t help – fluffy, warm, perfect for scooping up all the leftover sauce.
And of course, we finished with a chocolate fondant. Because how could we not? Gooey in the middle, just the right amount of sweet, and totally worth rolling home for.
But here's the best part – we booked through First Table, so the whole food bill was 50% off. Half price! I’m not even joking, it made an already amazing meal feel like we’d hit the jackpot. Great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere, all for a fraction of the price? Absolute win.
Would 100% recommend. Go hungry, go early, and definitely book through First Table. You’ll leave happy and...

The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive without being over the top. Happy to answer any questions, genuinely interested in your experience and thoughts on the food and happy to get into a conversation about where the lamb is sourced, the charcoal tandoori or the way the make their desserts.
I've been lucky enough to try some of the best Indian restaurants around London, from the high end ones to the more traditional ones and I can safely say this was some of the best food I've had anywhere.
The menu is very eclectic with dishes from all different regions. The beef croquettes were deeply spiced, the butter chicken wings delicate and fragrant and the chilli squid beautifully cooked. We tried the chops, black daal and butter chicken for mains. The lamb chops were the best I've had anywhere. Beautifully tender with the flavour of the lamb complimented by the spices and not overpowered (that'll be the charcoal). The butter chicken was rich but still with a tang from the tomato. The daal was deep and rich. And the bread, wow. You wouldn't think cheddar and pickled onions would work but it was delightful.
The desserts are all made fresh to order and you can tell. The chocolate fondant was simple but perfectly executed and the carrot and ginger tart was wonderful.
Will absolutely be back...
Read moreStepping into Chatora was like entering a vibrant, aromatic world of Indian delights. The warm ambiance set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. Our feast began with the star of the evening – the lamb chops. Juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, they were nothing short of exceptional, truly out of this world.
We savored the lamb biryani, each grain of rice perfectly cooked and infused with spices, The lamb was well marinated and perfectly cooked. The paneer tikka, a delightful surprise, with its smoky, charred edges and succulent interior.
Of course, no Indian meal is complete without butter chicken, and Chatora’s version did not disappoint. It was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with spices that lingered just right. Complementing our mains were soft, fluffy roti and garlic naan – both fresh and the perfect vehicle for mopping up every last drop of sauce.
To wash it all down, we enjoyed a refreshing Kingfisher beer, which paired beautifully with the flavors of our meal.
Overall, Chatora offers a gastronomic adventure that’s both satisfying and memorable. We left with our hearts full and a promise to return soon for another helping of their delectable dishes, especially the lamb chops...
