I love coming here! The staff are exceptional. From the manager George (Indian) to the wait staff: Maggie, Peter, Georgio, Jean-Luca, Isaak, Mimi, Anita, Emily, Irina, Omar, Cutton... just a lovely lovely bunch of people. Personable, insightful, effervescent and really welcoming, especially as a long time customer. I never feel judged, I'm treated with respect, kindness and met with the same energy I put out. Hospitality like this is VERY RARE and I couldn't recommend Claridges enough. Only once did an older gentleman speak to me and my mother rudely, but as soon as he witnessed how the team responded to me being there his demeanour changed and he apologised.
Claridges is by far the best place in Mayfair for elegance. It's clean and the toilets are immaculately serviced by the ladies whom I know well now.
I have tried The Connaught about 6 times and its too haughty and you're made to feel undeserving. Staff don't smile and they only want to serve their guests rather than locals who want to establish a sense of belonging there through loyalty. Read my review on Google about them. Last time I was there was after Stevie Nicks and it was busy, but staff were unfriendly. I felt judged and made to feel as though I didn't belong. Shame really, because once I find a place I like and establish relationships, I tend to stick to that venue. And it will forever be Clairidges now.
Thank you to all the team, especially Peter and George (the Indians) who are just so...
Read moreTechnically this is more a Dante, the NYC legendary cocktail bar that was responsible for the re-discovery of the Negroni cocktail, thanks to their dedication to the craft of doing extremely well the classic cocktails, thus setting a benchmark that is difficult to beat, or even replicate, with such consistency. We had ( there were 3 of us ) the Dante Garibaldi, the Dante negroni, the Mezcalito, the Unlikely, the Dante Hugo Spritz, plus, as we were peckish, we ordered the tomato salad, the Iceberg wedge salad, the Mare misto, 2 dauphinoise potatoes, 1 portion of french fries. The service is impeccable, the staff that served us were incredibly helpful, smiling, polite, and very efficient. The food was excellent as well, the tomato salad was so good it reminded me if the quality of the tomatoes we used to have in the south of Italy, where they taste of summer, of the sun, of the mount Vesuvius. It was an amazing dish, simple yet delicious. The same happened with the iceberg wedge salad, and the mare misto. Just because those are simple dishes, do not think that they are easy. You would be surprised to see how many âestablished â restaurants do fail when cooking the same thing. We were there for a long time, definitely more than our allotted time limit. As expected, they never rushed us, and, all in all, this was a perfect experience from the beginning until the end...
Read moreClaridge's deserves its reputation because it is simply one of the best hotels in the world. My husband and I just spent a special birthday weekend there and it was a total dream from check in to check out. We've been lucky enough to stay in some very luxurious hotels over the years, but Claridge's stands out because of the attention to detail. In particular, the service is excellent and every inch is spotless. Seriously, housekeeping is on point. In the rooms, everything has been thought through and done to the highest standard, from the Dyson hairdryer to the shower polished to a perfect shine, to the immaculate sheets and the perfectly fluffed cushions on the sofas. We had treatments at the spa, and even though it's temporarily located in one of the less exciting parts of the hotel while they add a new spa in the basement, the treatments were next level, so we didn't even care about that. One of the most relaxing massages of my life. At Claridge's you feel like you're in a magical world where everything is beautiful and everyone is looking after you. Recommend very highly, especially for special birthdays and anniversaries you want to...
