I did rate this restaurant 4 stars in the past and it would have been 5 if the company used normal salame instead of chorizo for the diavola, even on that occasion the service wasn't lightning fast but it was good enough.
Yesterday me and my better half went again, the restaurant wasn't that busy and being around 9 it wouldn't have gotten any busier, there were at least 16 seats available, many in larger tables but we were offered a small 2 seats table; if it was busy I wouldn't have minded but since there were plenty of seats would have been nice to be offered a larger table, didn't have the chance to ask for it as the waiter that welcomed barely pointed at our table instead of taking us there, I sat at a 4 seats table and informed another server.
20 minutes in and no one came to take our order, and no one even looked at us until I started staring at all the passing waiters with an unsatisfied face. Finally we ordered and the drinks were delivered pretty quickly.
30 minutes later and our pizza has not arrived yet, whilst, the table next to us, that sat down 10 minutes after we arrived were server their order.
Few minutes later finally we received our pizzas and I've pointed out that the table next to us was server before us, the server reply was that maybe they ordered before us, well, they shouldn't have.
When done eating I stood up and went to the till to pay as I didn't want to wait 20 minutes for the bill and was asked if everything was OK, I've expressed my dissatisfaction, was told by the staff member that he would let the manager know. Well, that doesn't do much for me at that point.
Another member of staff approached me on the way back and asked me what happened and if I paid already, to which I replied "unfortunately yes" the staff member offered to call the manager but at that point I just wanted to leave.
I would have appreciated if the person that took the payment would have offered to call the manager but it didn't happend.
I often go to Franco Manca all around London as I consider it the best real pizza chain in town and I usually get great service, especially at the Brixton one but here at Putney, the service is not up to...
Read moreI had a short, intense and funny experience when I visited the Franco Manca near Putney Bridge. As we walked in, we politely asked if they were open and serving (too many free tables at that moment). One waiter, a tall Slavic-sounding guy, said something, which was not intelligible (mask wearing and foreign accents, which is acceptable). But his finger repeatedly pointing towards the exit was ambiguously suggesting that we either were not welcome or something else. We chose the latter, as he wanted us to scan the NHS Covid app. After pointlessly asking if there would eventually be an available seat after that, we scanned. We were then sent back to re-scan for some reason, then the guy turned the back on us and left. Still at that point no answer about seat availability. We took the freedom to take a seat after all, only to hear someone shout (not in an aggressive way, but loud from distance and very assertive) hinting that other part of the restaurant was not open to the impure. His pointing finger was once more his favorite communication tool and from distance he pointed to some corner of the restaurant, near that huge wooden furnace where they prepare the pizzas. Unnecessarily in a hot day and empty restaurant. After completing his finger movement, he lost interest and turned the back on us and vanished. No joking or exaggeration. The only time we had the pleasure to address him was that initial question "do you have a table for us?". At that point we had to leave. Completely weird and deranged. I ordered a Pizza AND chili dip from this restaurant via Uber Eats. Firstly, AVOID ever ordering Franco Manca via Uber Eats, as I had a nightmare with both of them.. Pizza arrived coldish BUT WITHOIUT EXTRAS WHY ! basically I never get the extras that I HAVE PAID FOR.
I immediately messaged Uber, who said they won't be refunding me as it's "against their terms of service", I tried contacting Franco Manca support team and I received little answer.. they say CONTACT UBER EATS WHICH IS JUST EXCUSE. Then I did explain all story over there email , how it was disaster experience ordering pizza and extras full charged and NEVER GET EXTRAS PAID etc etc. customer serivise person says download francomanco app they will give me pizza as an apology , I did download append contact team EVENTUALLY THEY ARE IGONORING ME . uber already big let down and of course when two both disaster company merge together situation BECAME ever worse, and So all in all, I've been charged for extras NEVER GET THEM . . Poor customer service at its finest. Customer servise staff have compitition that HOW WE CAN DISSAPPONT OUR CUSTOMER TODAY ..I see on web most of people compiling about same thing of course...
