DON'T GO! OBNOXIOUS MANAGER!
The man who was there on 13th July around closing time would be better off repairing cars than in a place where he is to interact with customers!
I thought they closed at 2am which is on me as I confused their shop with another one. However, the man (manager?) had a LOT of attitude. Once the female employee had finished making my waffle, he told her to put it in a takeaway bag as it was too close to their closing time. Their closing time is ok (and my fault for having checked the wrong place) but he was acting as if I wasn't literally in front of him. No hi, no apologies, nada. I felt like I was a walking wallet he could not bother with.
When I tried to ask him several times about their opening hours, he blatantly ignored me as he was too busy "cleaning" his machines with a very very dirty sponge. Eventually, he just told me "we don't close at 2am" while laughing (!). Re the "cleaning", I would NEVER drink anything coming out of whatever the sponge this man had cleaned.
They only take cash which is quite odd considering everyone takes contactless post-covid; but I'll let everyone draw their conclusions as to why they would only take cash.
As I was leaving, he didn't thank me for my business, didn't apologize for the experience, didn't wish me a good evening ... NOTHING! Again, it felt as if I was a walking wallet. He was actually laughing about me when I left. The other female employee was ok but her voice was super low so not ideal. I didn't see her wash her hands before she made my waffle which was also weird .... Many places wear gloves now, she didn't and her headscarf was quite loose so not really ideal to cook (plenty of places have Muslim women wear tighter headscarf so that it doesn't hang loose on the food re Health & Safety measures).
The £5.50 waffle wasn't good ... nothing spectacular and the texture felt rubbery. They add whipped cream whereas most places ask you if you'd prefer whipped cream or ice cream on the side (this shop sells ice cream). I wasn't asked if I preferred one or the other (again Customer Service ... go the extra mile). It was a rip-off honestly. Tesco in front of their shop sells better waffles for less than £1.
This man should bear in mind that the reason why he has a business is because he has customers paying for his paycheck and therefore his bills. Do keep that in mind in today's society where you can easily be replaced especially considering the other poor reviews for this place. Say hello, be friendly, be welcoming, be polite and go the extra mile. That's what makes customers come back rather than spend their time writing very...
Read moreDISGUSTING SERVICE AND DISGUSTING STAFF. Deserves NO stars. I asked for a sample of the caramel ice cream and it was trash. Tasted like it contained acid and looked even worse. My friend asked for a chocolate crepe and it was raw. We talked to the manager, he came and picked at her food with her fork and said it was "okay." After 10 minutes, my friend was complaining about her stomach, so I went up to one of the girls who cooked the crepe and she couldn't even speak without her "manager." I use that world lightly. He was rude and said that he won't refund or remake her crepe because it was cooked. He was arguing with us about the food. So I asked him to try it since it was "so good" and he said no because it was cooked. That's why he's not a good staff member and he's a horrible person for not being a good...
Read moreIce cream was poor quality, cheap neon rubbish. Artificial flavour, I doubt there's any fruit or dairy at all involved in the manufacture. "Strawberry" looked and tasted like cheap supermarket hydrogenated vegetable fat stuff from a 90s children's birthday party, "Ferrero Rocher" was similar cheap generic artificial chocolate flavour with about half a crushed hazelnut at the bottom. "One Scoop" was about a single dessert spoon full and it melted into an airy liquid within minutes. Waffle arrived cold and chewy, didn't taste freshly cooked. Banana was browned and tasted off, barely a whole strawberry for my 50p. M&Ms "base" turned out to just be a spoonful sprinkled on top. Very...
