I had one of the most unpleasant and upsetting customer service experiences at Dock Coffee. There is a man working thereâpossibly the owner or a long-term employeeâwho displays shockingly poor and discriminatory behavior. He is a shorter, slim-built Asian man with short hair, often seen wearing a black vest or leather jacket. What Iâve experienced is not just rudeness, but a consistent, targeted pattern of disrespect that should raise serious concerns for any potential customer.
Every time I visited Dock Coffee, I made a genuine effort to be politeâsmiling, greeting him, treating him with respect. In return, I was met with nothing but cold, hostile silence and dismissive body language. He would ignore basic courtesies like âhelloâ or âgoodbye,â and it was clearly not due to distraction or misunderstanding. This was intentional.
What makes this worse is the clear double standard in how he treats customers. Iâve personally seen him smile and serve one customer warmly, only to immediately turn around and give me a sour, resentful lookâas if I didnât deserve the same basic level of respect. That moment was humiliating. And it happened more than once.
Let me emphasize: I have never acted in any way that could justify this behavior. This manâs actions were unprovoked, unprofessional, and blatantly discriminatory. It is deeply disturbing that a place serving the public would allow someone like this to represent their business.
Dock Coffee may seem like a decent cafĂ© from the outside, but behind the counter is an environment of silent hostilityâat least for some of us. If youâre okay with being treated like youâre not welcome, then this place is for you. Otherwise, I strongly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.
A good cafĂ© isnât just about coffee or foodâitâs about human decency and how people are treated. Dock Coffee fails that...
Read moreThe Vietnamese banh mi baguettes are reaaaaally good by London standards. I will definitely be back. My friend had a mango smoothie too & she said it was very mangoey.
The toilet was clean, which is always a good sign.
We sat outside as there are a few tables & chairs, which was lovely. They did table service & brought our meals out to us, which feels so rare these days for a little London cafe.
Usually I take photographs, but I was too excited when the food came. The fragrance was divine. I think they make the baguettes, but I forgot to ask. I did take some video footage afterwards & might add it later on if I get a chance.
It's a short walk from Canary Wharf so worth it to get a decent good food fix.
I'm so happy to have discovered this little gem. If you're a foodie & like Vietnamese food, you should definitely...
Read moreCosy cafe in short walking distance from Blackwall DLR Station. Latte was very good (they also offer Large size of the takeaway cups, which is good). They also offered Babyccino for my kid, which was good as well.
The only reason why 4 out of 5 stars: while the opening hours are stated as 7:00 to 17:00, it doesn't mean that all the food options will be available during all these hours. I arrived at 8:20 on Sunday, and the only food options were cookies and plain croissants. I was told that chocolate croissants would be available near 8:30 and breakfast options near 9:30 on Sundays, which was quite...
