First time coming here and I already expected the prices to be more than your average doughnut 😅 but oh boy the baked beauties were like pieces of art!

I loved how their menu was quite visual, easy to read and literally hung up like art on a wall.

There wasn't a queue when I visited so I was lucky! I ended up choosing the pistachio doughnut and the almond chocolate croissant.

Pistachio doughnut: it looked like a diabetes doughnut but actually by my surprise it was not as sweet as I had imagined! The chantilly cream and filling was perfectly filled inside ( definitely not on the stingy side) and the top with the pistachio pieces gave such a lovely texture. It was light, fluffy, tasty, surprising, and yes I wouldn't definitely recommend this flavour!

Almond chocolate croissant: look at all the layers! 😍 The filling wasn't overpowering like some almond croissants and it wasn't sickeningly sweet either with the chocolate! But for a couple of pounds more, I think it's worth buying the doughnut instead. Don't get me wrong, it's still nice but compared to what is being offered, I'd go for the doughnut next time round.

Overall I'd definitely recommend going to this place at least once. I normally like a famous doughnut brand ( in London borough market IYKYK) but this is a level up from them, and if you want to be a bit fancy then visit here.

The only down side is the seating area is quite small. I was carrying a small suitcase with me which didn't help but the tables and chairs were fairly close together, so I wouldn't recommend coming here to sit in...

Donutelier is undeniably a visual treat—the desserts are immaculately presented, with intricate details that make you excited to dig in. However, when it comes to flavor, the experience fell a bit short for the price point.

The Pistachio raspberry Croissant, for example, was visually stunning, but the pistachio flavor was so faint it felt like it barely had pistachio essence. Similarly, the Rocher donut failed to evoke the rich, indulgent hazelnut cream one might expect—it lacked the authentic nuttiness you’d associate with the name.

My favorite was the Spiced Apple Crumble, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though I felt it could have used a stronger hit of spices to elevate it further. The Pistachio Raspberry donut, while an interesting concept, felt slightly dry and sparse on pistachio cream, as if the ingredients were being rationed.

For the premium prices they charge, you’d expect an emphasis on high-quality ingredients and bold, distinct flavors. Instead, it sometimes felt like they were prioritizing mass production over finesse.

That said, the presentation alone deserves recognition—it’s what lures you in and sets the expectation for an extraordinary dessert experience. Unfortunately, the flavors don’t quite live up to the visual promise. Overall, Donutelier is still ok primarily for its artistry and aesthetics. If they could refine the flavors and be more generous with premium ingredients, it could easily become a go-to destination for...

A Hidden Gem for Baking Enthusiasts

During our recent trip, we stumbled upon what I can only describe as one of the best baking spots in town. While many visitors come here just to photograph the aesthetically pleasing cakes and pastries, the real magic lies in their taste. Trust me—don’t just settle for the photos; try their bakes, and you’ll be in for a delightful experience!

Even if you opt for the most affordable item on their menu, starting at around ÂŁ3.20, you will not regret it. The quality and flavors are unparalleled. I tried three different items during my visit, and each one was an absolute treat. The textures were perfect, and the balance of sweetness was just right. Next time, I plan to try their pistachio roll, as the variety of offerings is simply irresistible.

A box of delight—showcasing two of their most popular items. The attention to detail and presentation is extraordinary!

Oreo-themed cupcake with layers of creamy frosting and a perfect Oreo biscuit topping. A visual and flavorful masterpiece.

Strawberry croissant loaded with fresh cream and juicy strawberries. The perfect blend of flaky pastry and rich filling.

A closer look at the assortment—each bake has its unique flair and unforgettable taste.

If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by and taste their creations. Whether you’re a dessert lover or just looking for something new to try, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their...
