Everything about this bar is very good. We try to get there at least once a month as it is a bit of a journey for us as we live on the London -Kent border and it is a 2 train journey for us. However, the journey is well worth it. The bar is co-owned by Eric, a genuine Dutch person who I think comes from Utrecht, and his business partner Patrick. Eric used to run the Rembrandt bar which was Upstairs at the Bolton pub, Earl's Court. Thankfully for us this bar is a lot easier for us to get to than The Bolton.
The beer quality is great and the selection is fantastic with craft beers from all over The Netherlands. They frequently have tap takeovers and meet the brewer sessions. Although Eric & Patrick run the place, Cameron behind the bar is the star of the show. He manages to keep 30+ taps working. There are other itinerant staff working their, but Cameron is a welcome constant. And all 3, Eric, Patrick & Cameron are a pleasure to drink with. They are personal, friendly, but above all they know what they are doing.
Keep it up guys, see...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally!! A proper Dutch brewery that serve decent Dutch Snacks too! Yes, I am a Dutchie who as lived in London for almost a decade so you might think Iād be biased whenever a Dutch establishment pops up, however; Iām actually very pickyš! Wonderful venue and variaty of beers. Service is wonderful and Eric is so lovely and passionate about this place.
Only reason I gave the atmosphere 4 stars is because of the ventilation at the kitchen area can be better. I can understand that it is difficult for the type of building, but if you donāt want to smell like a deep fryer by the end if the night, best to stay at the bar areaš«£.
Will be a new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt last we have a bar for good Dutch beers owned by a Dutchman. Their selection is second to none with a broad range of beer styles available. Right through from pales ales to barrel aged barley wines. Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful when it comes to choosing a beer that suits your tastes. They are still adding some finishing touches to the bar so it's going to look even better once it's completed. Their food offerings look traditional and hopefully I'll get to sample some bitterballen on...
