BIG SCAM!!! DON'T GO! I have 2 tickets for Slimelight Halloween (their oldest running gothic party) and I arrived with my friend at 00:30 from Paris, and my friends from London got 2 tickets too. So we are 4 in total. Despite our tickets, the security guards in charge of the queue on site told us that there was a 1 hour wait (100m queue). He also indicated that they only let in when someone is leaving. Even the people on the guest list had to wait a long time and it was starting to make them aggressive. By questioning in the queue, everyone else had a ticket. There had clearly been excessive overbooking. After 1 hour of waiting, we only progressed 5m (only due to the fact that the people in front of us left the queue). Given the slowness of our progress, we had no chance of entering the club before the doors closed (3am). I tried to go directly to speak at the entrance of the club, but the security guard held me back. I finally managed to get around it. He came back to me and threatened to force me out of the queue if I didn't cooperate and get back to the back of the line. So it was just impossible to even get close to the doors. So we left the queue, frozen after 1 hour of waiting for nothing, at 1:30. Our evening was ruined... Then next day we were requesting refund through official website and Facebook. They either refuse refund or just not replying at all. It was super sacarsm that before purchasing ticket, I had a chance to talk to the organizer in Facebook, he was being super nice and promised that I will have the best party ever. That somehow comes true that Electrowerkz made my WORST party ever. Have been frequently partied the most famous underground parties all over Europe, None of them has played this ugly.... You should at least learn what Berghain do in Berlin, if you don't let people go inside, at least only sell ticket at entrance, so people would queue hours with a reason. Such a shame to run this scam overselling policy within the...
Read moreWe went there on a Friday evening for Voodoo london, we usually go there with my friend but this time we had 4 more friends who were brown. we have been quite drunk before when we entered the venue on other occassions but we were never turned down entry. this time we were denied entry and told to sober up and come back. one of our friends got much more sober and the other one was still slightly drunk. they told us that they still can't let us in and we will have to wait for a bit more. my friend thought they were being racist and told them about his concerns. after my friend addressing his concerns, the white romanian lady at the door told us that now they are never going to let us in now because our friend is concerned that she is racist and she can't be racist becuase her friend's skin colour is darker than my friends skin color (lol). I find this quite unprofessional as they have denied entry to us due to our concerns for racism instead of addressing them kindly. I also do understand my friend's concerns for why they might be racist as this has never happenned to us before when we didn't have many people of color in our group and i have seen drunker white people enter the venue with no issue/entered the venue with no issue before whilst being much more drunk. They also didn't refund our tickets or anything but they are going to lose regular customers as both me and my friend go to slimelight and voodoo quite regularly and we don't think what they have done at the door was appropriate. I would avoid this place if you are a big group of brown people as I don't think you would be welcome here. They also did something super slimy and tried to get the id card of my friend who called them racist to ban him forever from the club systems even though he didn't do anything violent/shout or be rude to anyone. that's...
Read moreUPDATE - I came back for Riposte and they'd addressed the feedback, with the middle dance floor having much better perceived ventilation. Fantastic! They also had a lot of really friendly wellness staff - enthusiastic when we were fine just sitting downstairs for a break, but if they're friendly I'd rather they were enthusiastic than absent. Amazingly friendly venue staff and Riposte crew! Absolutely a five-star venue with the middle floor ventilation improved.
I came to this venue for Riposte and had an amazing time with my friends, and it was a wonderful night out in an awesome venue with friendly staff.
I took a star off because the middle dance floor ventilation wasn't amazing which triggered a friend's asthma - rescue inhaler and some time away from dancing and all was well however and we all loved our time. Also, they have the constraints of an old London building - I'm not sure if it really could have been any better. Maybe a fan to pull air through from the bar area to the dance floor?
One thing that was a slight disappointment, though one can't criticize a place for changing decor - there's a lot of photos online of an old tube carriage as part of the bar, and we didn't see this. Either we missed the obvious or this wasn't there. We were excited to see it, but the decor as the place was was also amazing.
All around a truly excellent venue. Would be five stars if they could figure out a way to get a bit better airflow through the...
