Our waiter was called stan who was lovely and attentive. Unfortunately the food was shocking and so was the coffees. The person making the coffees clearly don’t know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte, coffees were super strong with 2 shots in but the cups are small which for me made the coffee unbearable to drink.
Cappuccino should be fluffy with chocolate on top!!
Second we was sat next to people who had a massive dog ( German Shepherd ) who was well behaved i must say a cute but do i want to eat my. breakfast with a side of dog hair no,i also have a dog which i would not bring to a place like that as you are literally sitting on top of each other an i think its rude.
Food took about 30 minutes to arrive two full grind breakfast one with extra bacon that weren’t on my plate when it came, the bit of bacon that did come which was not an extra was just a burnt bit of fatty gammon that’s not bacon eggs were snotty, even though I asked him to be well done. The veg breakfast was cold so sent that back ( poor stan felt for the guy )
the sourdough bread was just that bread not toasted,no butter came an when we asked we got the most tiny bit of butter for 3 people with doorstops bits of bread.
Now the two grind breakfast for pretty much finished, what i could eat a now the veg breakfast has come back!!
can’t even eat together.
Asked to talk to the Manager who came over ( Jason ) No people skills not really sorry for the shocking food which is pretty much £20 each
He said we could have 50% off our meal an not pay for coffees, i weren't paying for that rubbish.
Had he been a bit more apologetic an sorry i wouldn’t even be writing this but he didn’t even care that the food was so bad.
How can stan the waiter be more embarrassed an sorry then the actual Manager.
could hear the table next to me having issues to with even getting their drinks
Jason as a Manager care a bit more. I do exactly the same job as you an if someone complained like we did i would be having words with the kitchen staff an i would be so embarrassed an do everything in my power to make things right,Not just stand there like i couldn’t careless. Yh we got 50% off but a sorry goes a long way.
Stan your customer service is 10/10 an i feel for you guys.
I can see jason is hard to work for so...
Read moreI have left the UK now, but I feel like I'd regret it if I didn't write a review for this place😼. I came to London alone to study a major I wasn't good at, it was quite painful. Thankfully, I met this coffee shop🥲. Every staff member is so warm, the Spanish latte is delicious, the almond croissant is tasty, and the location is super convenient. My first visit was a bit awkward because my English wasn't great, and I couldn't understand what the staff were saying to me haha. But thankfully, I didn't let that awkwardness make me miss out on this place 🫢 Because honestly, during my hardest month of August, what kept me going to school every day for experiments and writing thesis papers, helping me get through that hardest month was here 🥲 My most familiar staff member is Ethan. Every time I walk in, he always greets me warmly. Even though we usually only exchange a few words when I order, but I'm always impressed by his enthusiasm and energy. 🥺 Sometimes I feel very tired, but when I sit in here and drink coffee while waiting for the bus, hearing him say hello to other customers gives me a little boost. (I always order the same coffee, but I think his is the best! ). The last time I saw Ethan before leaving the UK, I told him how grateful I was. He said, “You made my day,” but what I really wanted to say was, “You made my whole summer.” 🥺 Without Ethan and the other friendly staff giving me warmth during those two minutes of ordering coffee each day, I doubt I could have finished my studies with my terrible mindset. I never thought I'd feel so much of a connection to a country I only lived in for a year, but now I'm really going to miss London because of Grind in Greenwich and its warm staff. I hope one day I'll have the chance to return to this city and have ice Spanish...
Read moreI believe our server was named Ariana, as that was the name on our receipt. Unfortunately, she was extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming throughout our visit. It genuinely felt like she didn’t want to be there or serve us, and it made the whole lunch quite uncomfortable. Her attitude was cold and dismissive, and there was a complete lack of basic customer service, for example, when my friend asked for a straw, she came back and threw it onto the table without a word.
It might be worth considering whether Ariana needs additional training in customer service or whether this role is the right fit for her, as her negative energy affected the entire experience. Also the fact that it wasn’t busy at all, compared to other times I had been but for some reason the service was the slowest it has ever been, we waited about 40mins for just our drinks and then she didn’t even bring one of the drinks but left it on the receipt. Also after everything the service charge was still left on the bill at the end and when we asked Ariana to remove the service charge, she laughed in our face as if we asked her to do the most ridiculous thing ever which is insane because her customer service was non existent from beginning to end , so I believe she just expected it for the sake of it.
The only redeeming part of the visit was the manager, who went out of their way to try and make things right after several things had gone wrong. I’ve visited Greenwich Grind multiple times over the years and always had a good time, but sadly, based on this experience, I won’t be returning or recommending it to others. So...
