Couldn't give them 0, so had to review with 1 star.
The food was meh. When you request spicy dishes, they tend to make it one-dimensional by simply adding green chilies, which might disappoint Indian food enthusiasts.
The entire purpose of the establishment is to attend to the non Indian diners need. Which is fine but please be a bit subtle. The care and preferences given to them if not completely at least partially be given to the Indian diners too. Even here in the review section you can see the establishment reacting to non Indian diners openly with love emojis but rather ignoring others. Complementary tea, apologies for late delivery, special explanations etc for just the non Indian category. By all means do what suits your business but don't be so cold to others.
Issues were with the service were several, I seriously doubt the reviews here by desis.
I asked for warm water, which arrived very late. The second time, the water wasn't even warm. I was with my two senior citizen parents, and a bit more empathy would have been appreciated. I understand that food might be late due to being short-staffed or having too many customers (they have a lower deck, though I'm not sure if there were any customers there).
I have dined at several Indian restaurants in the UK and Ireland and have never been forced to pay a service charge. It's acceptable to pay a service charge at a fine dining venue, but this was a street food area. The serving person was on the phone outside, missed two bell rings from the kitchen, and consequently missed those serving periods. That was disappointing. Eventually, the kitchen staff served the food. Realizing their mistake, the main serving person pretended to be in the washroom and used a back door to enter the serving area.
That was quite a drama to witness. But why should I pay an extra service charge for this? I was there for the food, not the drama.
If you fancy Indian food here, consider the street food at Greenwich Market just behind or go to East ham. At least you won't have to pay an additional service charge there and you will get what...

Visited this restaurant recently with my in-laws, who are strict vegetarians — which is why we chose this place. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a terrible experience from start to finish.
The place is old and poorly maintained, with seating in a dingy underground area that had no ventilation whatsoever — very uncomfortable, especially when you’re carrying a 10-month-old baby.
We ordered some basic snacks and lassi. Unfortunately, I accidentally spilled the lassi on the table. What shocked us was the staff’s attitude — instead of offering any help or even replacing the drink (which we would have gladly paid for), the server simply handed us a kitchen roll and asked us to clean it ourselves! We had to switch tables on our own and request assistance again.
What made it worse was the food. By the time we changed tables and settled down — barely 2–3 minutes — the dahi puri we had ordered was already soggy and inedible. When we pointed this out, the server casually blamed us for taking “too long” to eat. No apology, no attempt to fix the situation.
We’ve dined at many restaurants, and accidents can happen — but any decent place will show at least some basic courtesy or customer service. This was by far the worst service and food quality we’ve ever encountered. Extremely disappointing and frankly embarrassing, especially with our in-laws present.
Would not recommend this place to...
Read moreThis place is probably one of very few fully vegetarian restaurants available in London. Plenty of good snack options. The food was a mix of hit and miss.
Food: Decent. We ordered paani puri, Dahi puri, momos and aloo Tikki. Paani poori came with the smallest possible bowl with 10 spoons of water topped with boondi.
By the time Dahi puri came to our table, it was soggy as it had been ready for more than 10 minutes. Aloo Tikki came surprisingly quickly but was not at all crispy. Wasn't hot as well.
In mains we ordered soya biryani but seemed it wasn't our day, as we were served veg biryani. It seemed more like veg pulao with yellow dal served on top.
Aloo paratha was decent.
Service : below average We waited for more than 10 mins to be served bottled water after asking for it. It took more than 20 minutes for the snacks to be served. And probably the reason Dahi puri was soggy is because of poor service as it would had been prepared and ready to be served but took long to reach our table.
When we highlighted that we ordered soya biryani and not the veg one, we were told that don't worry we won't charge you for soya one and moreover the veg one is 2 quid cheaper. ( I would have eaten at home if it was about saving a few pounds) The waitress then found an excuse in the restaurant being busy and noisy and thus getting us a different item.
With the price paid, along the service charge the experience was a bit...
