The Harrods Food Hall is one of the best in the world, and it's a must-stop for a foodie like me. I won't travel to London without at stepping foot here at least once per visit because I love it so very much.
The space is massive and sprawling, and it's a true feast for the senses. The smells, the sights, the food...it's overwhelming! This food hall is a gourmet wonderland with fancy pastries, cheeses, sit-down bars and restaurants, and more.
This isn't an inexpensive place to shop or dine, though, as the offering are luxurious. The decor itself is lovely (with marble counters and some employees in bowties and suits), and you'll pay a pretty penny to shop and eat here. Even if you aren't planning to drop some cash, it's worth a stop just to look around.
The Food Hall is divided into different sections based on the type of food: meats, pastries, chocolates, cheeses, olive oils, artisan teas, wines, and more. The bakery counter is my heaven on Earth, with fresh and buttery croissants and other goodies that look to beautiful to eat ( I mean, even the baguettes are Insta-worthy). The seafood display is equally photogenic (and super expensive: think caviar, lobsters, fish filets, oysters and more). Macarons, fancy pants cheeses, jaw-droppingly beautiful chocolates...the food here could be considered works of culinary art!
This isn't the place to go if you are avoiding crowds because its popularity means it can be wall-to-wall with people. Navigating the aisles can be tricky, so bring your patience (and let me mention again, your wallet)! The experience is next level during the Christmas season.
The Knightsbridge tube station is right at the main entrance, and there are plenty of buses, taxis, and it's easy to grab an Uber.
The Harrods Food Hall is a must-visit for anyone who loves food and wants a peek into one of London's most iconic culinary spaces. One of my absolute favorite places in...
Read moreI booked Dim Sum by China Tang for my husband’s birthday - it was our first time experiencing food at the Harrods dining hall as we have dined at the China Tang restaurant in the Dorchester which was beautiful.
Firstly we ordered two bottles of coke and even though I specifically asked for ice in a separate glass, the waiter served us two big glasses filled with ice, even though he double checked with us before going to the bar. We ordered another coke and why am I not surprised - it was half the amount!! If the waiters or waitresses are unsure, what is the harm in asking.
Secondly after ordering a variety of dim sum dishes and two main dishes: Schezuan chicken + egg fried rice and Fried rice with Prawns we had a few spoonfuls and asked for the food to be packed for takeaway - we paid our bill and forgot to take our takeaway boxes thinking they may have been moved to the bar or at our table - we stepped away for less than two minutes to the bakery section to buy cake for our family - I quickly remembered the takeaway boxes and went back to ask for them thinking the attentive staff would at least wait for 5 mins or so. But to my dismay one of the waitresses who was helping us throughout the evening, Monica told me by directly laughing at me that the food isn’t there. I was shocked and confused having said I left only two minutes ago and her reply to me was I’ve thrown it in the bin, I said it can’t be and she had a smirk on her face and continued to laugh and tell me if you want it it’s in the bin. Speechless.
My husband and I were at the bakery section paying for cake and one of the new managers, Jack kindly overheard our conversation and kindly offered his help and time to speak to the duty manager. He told us to wait for an hour, took my details and two freshly made dishes were prepared without the egg fried rice were provided to us by the duty manager...
Read moreI visited harrod's fresh food hall with my boyfriend on the 5th of May 2023 for some exotic fruits as a treat for my birthday from my boyfriend. All fruits are full price items and picked by the staff. I stored the fruits in the fridge in two hours. The second day I found 3 out of my 4 mangosteen with either rotten bit or suspicious yellow bit (The fresh mangosteens are supposed to have white flesh). I also found the bottom layer of my physalis pack was full of physalis with black mold and white mold.
Then the LONG LONG JOURNEY TOWARDS MY REFUND began. I took the photos and emailed the customer team on the 7th of May and they asked me to upload evidence on the 9th of May which I did. Then they said their in store team will contact me. However, I got no reply. I phoned the customer service team on the 20th, 22nd, 24th of May and 1st of June and each time they said their manager will contact me but I didn't received any email. I contacted them just now and they finally told me that I can bring my receipt, photo evidence, and original payment card to the store to receive refund (They could have told me in my FIRST/SECOND/ OR EVEN THIRD phone call!!!!!). It's quite far for my boyfriend to travel to London but I will definitely bring him to Harrods some time this month to claim the refund because I don't want to waste his money on low quality goods and service. I will get you updated if I am able to get the refund.
21 June 2023 I discussed with my boyfriend and we think it doesn't worth our time and effort to claim the refund in this hot summer so I won't come to Harrods Food Halls any longer. BTW, I found this negative review disappears when I log off my google account and reappears when I logged in my account. Not sure whether other...
