I have been dragged here at least once a month for the last 6 years by my ever hungry hound, a dog whose appetite for Heaps delightful sausages knows no limit. However the last three times I have left empty handed due to one particular recalcitrant, unfriendly and unwelcoming staff member who has chosen to wilfully ignore a waiting customer until they go away.
Once could be forgiven, and it was. Twice is to be considered worthy of the benefit of the doubt, but three, four and five times? That’s just rude and annoying to the extent that I feel compelled to write this in the hope that the amiable and ever friendly proprietor of this fine establishment might read it, and get a grip of this belligerent unprofessionalism.
The entire shop floor is only about 10 sq. ft. so the stern faced matronly guardian of the sausages has developed quite some talent to be able to ignore anyone contained within it. Sadly, these talents, exceptional as they are, are not compatible with public facing roles in the hospitality industry.
Please do get a grip of this Martin, reading other people’s reviews the attitude and unfriendliness of your staff is a recurring theme, so I know I’m not alone in thinking that it maybe better to preserve my good mood for the day and simply walk straight past rather than risk the mood spoiling attitude and underserved rudeness that has recently prevailed when I walk in the door.
Your outstanding sausages deserve better than to be served with a scowl and barely veiled contempt. That’s of course if I can get...
Read moreAs a tourist visiting London for the first time i stumbled upon this lovely little resturant when trying to get some breakfast. Me and my friend ordered the full english breakfast and some sausage rolls, little bit on the pricy side but it was well worth it. The Homemade sausages and black pudding were delicious, and were the rest of the meal. The only downside If i am being a little bit picky is that i would have prefered the toasted bread without the egg on it, i wish it was more crispy and not soggy. The sausage rolls was also home made, i can really recommend the lamb and mint one, or the spicy italian one, but do be warned, it has a real kick. As for the location, it was a small coazy little space with very nice owners. Highly recommend it, and i will be going there again tomorrow...
Read moreAn amazing selection and a supreme quality product. It comes from a quintessentially English family line. Martin Heaps is quite fanatical about food being a former chef. And we may want to add an accomplished one, with colorful international career which included a culinary art teaching tenure at a hospitality college in Singapore. Laura, Martin's daughter successfully launched the business in 2007. A twin project came to life in Brighton where Laura and her husband moved to raise the next generation. Martin and Laura are a great team, delivering to the market with accuracy what the market desires. There is a strong story behind the brand, there is creativity and a simple authentic service with an outstanding quality. 5...
