Heart of Hackney — Restaurant in London

This is a pub I first came to because another local pub of mine, Pub on the Park in London Fields was absolutely rammed.

The staff are chatty and helpful - even letting me pay by card for a round worth under £10, despite the signs. Nice touch.

They may have a deal with one of the adjoining Lebanese restaurants because the menu has that feel, and the food is delicious, you can't go wrong with seasoned meat, bread and rice!

Went back again recently for the 6 Nations rugby, and sat out in the garden at the back of the pub, past the multiple pool tables. We watched on the big screen, in an inclusive atmosphere. The garden area is covered from the rain and heated too which is a bonus. It's a little shabby, which only serves to add to the charm of the place.

Inside it's roomy, with large screens for sport and has plenty of seating. If you're after a small cosy pub for a quiet pint, perhaps try elsewhere, but if you're after a place to play a few frames of pool, or watch sport, then this is the place you're...

Superb staff, superb food, 9 of os and call it£18 a head give or take. The food served virtually all same time and real hot, not microwave hot. My beef was gorgeous even though I got one bit it was nice and thick, the veg was great and the Yorkie as you can see was MASSIVE. The staff couldn't have looked us any better. The price of food and drink was a teeny bit steep....but if I lived anywhere near here I would be there every week. All I can say is "thank you" to staff and manager for looking after us so well and I can't wait for the boys 50th and see you...

A Hackney boozer, huge and run by the restaurant next door. Unpretentious with pool table, outside area for smokers and reasonable prices. Frequented by locals. Can get a bit rowdy but that's what Hackney is all about. I'd prefer this pub to any of the pubs where one would pay £6 for a pint of lager. Centrally located, close to London Fields and Hackney...
