Hi Thai (Shoreditch) — Restaurant in London

I have ordered multiple times and have visited in person to get a takeaway as well. Prices are fair. Food is good, even though some items are heated in a microwave or defrosted (edamame, chocolate cake...). The guy who served me in person was nice enough. I like the taste of their vegan menu, HOWEVER, am starting to wonder whether there is a possible cross contamination going on? I have had pain in my stomach a few times, especially after eating the pad thai, including this evening, when I have had two visits to the bathroom already, after eating the pad thai earlier today for dinner. Is it possible that the noodles are vegetarian and not vegan - and contain eggs? As I cannot quite understand why on Earth I would have such tummy discomfort so often after eating their food. I do enjoy the taste, even though it does not necessarily taste like authentic Thai, it tastes nice enough and tends to satisfy my cravings! Their vegan chocolate cake is shop bought, but very tasty! Very late, flavourless, bad service.

I ordered crispy chicken, dumplings, gravy chips & coke at 7.47pm for 8.33pm delivery, but the food arrived at 10.10pm. I called several times and each time they told me the food was 5 minutes away. I called a third time, they said it was 15 minutes away, when I questioned them on this they said "actually it hasn't been picked up yet" - like why say 15 minutes?! They just lied the whole time. They said they would give me a free food item but they did not. Food arrived cold.

The gravy on the chips was hard, chips soggy, dumplings below average, chicken not crispy, very small with zero flavour. They gave me a refund, but the food tasted so bad it wasn't worth it. Similar places in the area that are way better.

Update: I haven't received my refund over a week later- they sent "evidence" they did this, but I cannot see it in my bank account. I called on Monday and they were going to call me back on Tuesday but they never did. The guy on the phone is...

Order from this place regularly, they do incredible sushi, the best vegan pad Thai I've had and a delicious chocolate cake, their plant-based chicken is so tasty and their tofu is divine. I live in Leytonstone and they tend to deliver to me within 1 and a half hours of placing my order, normally around an hour and 10-15mins, as i live a fair distance away from the restaurant, this is quite impressive.
