Will not be going back to Tas Firin again. Wish I could give NO STARS at all! Absolutely disgusting service. Went with a friend and asked for a table for two in the almost empty restaurant. They offered us a seat and we requested to sit somewhere else which they agreed to. After getting comfortable in our seat as the restaurant got busier they asked us politely if we minded moving from a 4 seater table that can be shared to a 2 seater we politely declined and that is when the service went from five star to minus a star. They continually looked over at us and whispered between one another. We began to feel extremely uncomfortable as there actions clearly showed they were not happy with us declining. We were ignored by the staff member who asked us to move and his colleague standing next to him. Then after 15mins of being ignored a young tall broad set man came from behind the grill and checked the tables next to us to see if they were ok and walked back to the grill. I had to get the attention of a server to actually ordered as no one came to us to take our order after 15mins though they were standing less than 2ft away from us. I got a servers attention and we placed an order FINALLY! My turkish tea I had ordered when we first sat down was brought up from the kitchen by the toilets downstairs. Considering there actions towards us for the last 15mins I did not eant to drink it. I ordered the lentil soup and my friend ordered chicken. I went to use the toilet and came back up just as they were serving the soup. My soup bowl had soup around the rim and soup that had dripped down the side but had not been wiped. My friends soup looked like miso soup and not turkish chicken soup. The servers continued to watch us and talk amongst themselves. I decided I had had enough and asked to speak to one of the servers. The tall young broad set man came out and spoke to me instead. I showed him my soup and explained everything from the beginning whilst doing this another 3 servers came over and it felt like I was being surrounded. I told the him that we wanted to cancel our order as we did not feel comfortable with the lack or service we had had after declining politelt to move. He clearly wanted us to pay for the food that was still cooking and the soup that looked unsuitable for consumption. I told him we will pay for the drink my friend had and my turkish tea I did not drink. He told I would not be welcome in that restaurant again. I have been to Tas Firin on Bethnal Green Road a handful of times always with excellent service and excellent food. I don't know if they have changed management but I am glad he told me I am unwelcome there because from the moment we did not move there actions showed we were unwelcome there. If he didn't tell me not to come back (purely because we did not pay for the food that anybody could have looked at and seen they should not eat) I would've told myself never to come back there! Tas Firin was deffo Tas...
Read moreWalked in with my fellow brown friend & we were asked to share a table which we nicely replied with no & asked if we could have the comfy empty table instead which they agreed. Following this a group of four young english women came in & we were asked straightaway to move from our seat to accomodate these women EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A TABLE OF FOUR FREE but it was next to the door and the staff preferred them to have the nicer seat than US. My friend again politely refused & i said i am comfortable here. They were not happy and ended up in the EMPTY table of four next to the door. Following this about 15-20mins passed & nobody came to take our order even though the very big turkish waiter was asking the tables near to us if they were okay and clearly ignoring us. When the soup finally came it was served in such a way we were pretty shocked. My friends soup bowl had soup stains outside the bowl and was everywhere inside the bowl as well. AND my chicken bowl looked like a A VERY watery vomit, been to many turkish places & never seen soup that looked that watery & whitish yellow . my instincts were telling me this was deliberate. Even after when we refused to move they kept looking at us & muttering amongst themselves & I felt out of place and my friend decided to complain but nicely took them to the side instead of making a scene. Instead of wanting to resolve our issue they demanded money for the soup which we did not touch & refused to even acknowledge our unhappiness. I am pretty sure if we were two white girls we would NOT be asked to be seated next to other customers NOR to be moved after ordering our food. Horrible people...
Read moreHORRIBLE & DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Every single staff there was discriminating all of us at the table and made mocking comments to each other/laughing at us just because we ordered a platter for the children and they laughed at us just because we didn’t order enough food from the restaurant!! The special platter 2 is ridiculous it wouldn’t even feed 3 people the size portions are unbelievable. The platter came in a small plate with small rice and bulgur that would feed 1 person only even though the RUDE waiter said this platter would feed 4 people!!!!!
A particular female staff there was very rude making horrible remarks about us to her co workers and even the cooks were staring and laughing at us!!!
Felt very uncomfortable as we can baitly see the remarks and the way we were treated!!!
When confronted at the end towards paying our bill which we did ask them for a card machine so we can pay and leave! The waiter asked how we was going to pay rudely as if we weren’t going to pay!!!!
When we confronted the female staff about her behaviour towards us she walked off laughing to herself and her co worker or should I say her partner in crime had to defend her and of course say they weren’t doing anything wrong when we and other customers saw their disgusting behaviour!!!
Wouldn’t recommend this...
