Awful experience with the Hoxton Cabin. DO NOT RELY ON THEM FOR IMPORTANT EVENTS. We booked our wedding after party here (and paid a deposit, therefore under contract) almost 12 months ago, only to be told 2.5 weeks out from our wedding that they had double booked us. No budging on cancelling the other event (which was just a random DJ night), even though this is our actual wedding day and so close to the day. We received almost no communication during the 12 months (despite repeated follow-ups confirming details and repeated mentions of the date and what we wanted etc.) We then came in and saw the owner to see what was up, and he wooed us with his confidence, showed us our booking on the calendar (so god knows what is up with their system). He told us everything we wanted to hear, then completely failed to deliver.
How they have treated us is a representation of how they operate as a business. No organisation, no communication, no values. I still can't quite believe a venue that advertises themselves as an event space can get away with operating in...
Read moreThe new White male security guard was extremely rude. He warned my female friend that she wouldnât be allowed in next time if her bag was too big. He also put his hands on me, turning my plain baseball cap (with no logo) backwards on my head and warned me that I couldnât wear a hat here, otherwise he would kick me out. I was only wearing the cap because I just wanted to chill today without make-up. Iâve been here nearly 20 times over the past 2 years, but this was the first time I saw him and also the first time Iâve ever been threatened by a security guard here. I asked him directly if he was being sexist or racist towards Asians, but he ignored me and just walked away. This really made my impression of this place...
Read moreHey there Hoxton Cabin. I'm not sure how to respond to your response to my review. Sincere apologies for damning with faint praise. I really liked the ambience. I just - weirdly - ordered a tea, when I'm not much of a tea drinker. That is on me not you. I was out for what was an epic day with one of my best friends and we stopped for a brief and necessary break. The whole day was the sort that was destined to dwarf anything not officially on the schedule. When I got home Google started haranguing me about doing reviews of places I'd been. I'd never tried it before, so I gave it a test run, and you got a less than earned review out of the deal. I hope this patches...
