I recently visited your restaurant in London after seeing several recommendations on social media, especially for your tiramisu. I made a reservation for an outdoor table to meet a friend for coffee and dessert.
Upon arrival, I informed the hostess of our reservation. She initially asked if it was for lunch, to which I replied that we were there for coffee and dessert. She then informed us that coffee and dessert were served only outside, which was perfect for us as that’s where we reserved. However, she mentioned that all outdoor tables were full and that the outside seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, despite my reservation. We were told to wait outside, with the assurance that we were first on the list for the next available table.
While waiting, I was disappointed to observe that a table was given to another group who had a reservation, even though we were told reservations were not accepted for outdoor seating. When I pointed this out, a second staff member intervened to calm the situation, offering us the next available table. However, the inconsistency in your seating policy and the way the situation was handled left us with a negative impression.
To make matters worse, it became apparent that guests were being pressured to order lunch rather than just enjoying dessert and coffee, which did not align with the expectations set when we made our reservation.
I hope this feedback helps improve your customer service and clarify your reservation policies to avoid such confusion...
Read moreCame here for a work lunch with 4 people and while we finished everything, we were absolutely stuffed. Everything was good but I wasn’t really wowed by anything. The picante pizzette was my fav and I might even come back for it. It’s a good size for a personal pizza.
Dine in Oct 2024, 4 people: Pollo insalate - Octopus salad - 5/10 - octopus was good but too many potatoes Tonno crudo - tuna crudo - 7/10 - thick sashimi style slices, good quality tuna but not much flavor Picante pizzette - 9/10 - my favorite thing we ordered and I’d even come back for. Good for me bc I couldn’t taste the sausage but loved the sauce, straccietlla cheese, and thin sliced (serrano?) pepper. The bread was my favorite though, it was like a butter focaccia crust. Big yum. Martufo (truffle) pizzete- 7/10 - Good and lots of truffle, but I’m indifferent to truffle. Pasta: Astice (lobster linguine) - 7.5/10 - lobster was tender and pasta sauce was good but not mind blowing. Not £52 good. Pasta: agnolotti - 7.5/10 - like rectangular ravioli filled with soft creamy ricotta like cheese. The tomato sauce was simple and good. Nice dish tho not sure I’m dying to get again. Dover sole - 7/10 - massive piece of fish. Meaty. Cooked nicely. Lemon herb sauce was good but nothing crazy special. filet minion - 7/10 - I’m not a big meat eater and...
Read moreDining at Ill Gattopardo Mayfair was such a treat honestly, it’s become one of my favorite places in London. From the minute I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable, almost like I was at a friend’s beautiful dinner party. The interior has this cozy, glamorous vibe, with velvet chairs and soft lighting, and those fun little leopard-print details that give it such personality.
The food blew me away. The pasta was incredibly fresh, and the seafood dishes tasted like they’d come straight from the coast. Everything was presented so thoughtfully, and sharing plates with friends just made the meal feel more special. I have to mention their tiramisu — it was easily the best I’ve ever had, and the cocoa-powder logo made it feel extra memorable.
What really made the night stand out, though, was the atmosphere. There’s this lively buzz to the place, but it never felt noisy or overdone. The staff went out of their way to make our meal perfect, whether they were recommending a great wine or making sure we never ran out of fresh bread. If you’re looking for a spot that’s both indulgent and genuinely welcoming, Ill Gattopardo...
