JOA is Kingston's hidden gem in terms of Korean takeaway. First off, its a bit further away from the main street, yet it has a lot seating area! You are almost always guaranteed a seat, even pre-pandemic. So if you find yourself hungry after shopping around, head here and you'll likely find a seat.

Now let's talk about the taste. Personally their rice stood out for me, its sticky and soft just at the right texture. The foods are also very good, I've tasted most of them! My personal favourite are the teriyaki star and the chicken katsu curry. The curry sauce here is unique to the others and just leaves you wanting more.

Pricewise, it is (during the time of this review) the cheapest option on that same street. You don't really come to these take away places to experience stellar hospitality, but the owner is always quick to handle your order and sometimes I get a candy as a bonus :). I am definitely a returning customer for the...

Chicken chilli tasted like it’s a couple days old. My boyfriend ordered two corn dogs, one of them was the wrong one but decided to not say anything. But had to say something about the chicken because it was not edible at all. We asked for a refund but they said all they can do is give us another portion. We refused and still wanted refund. One of the staff came from the kitchen and started being very rude to me (baring in mind I was polite from the beginning) saying they not gonna refund me if “the food is not to your taste”. When I did explain to him that the chicken tastes old. I mean who likes two days old chicken? I definitely don’t recommend, the place was dirty, very rude staff and food disgusting. Even though I don’t like Kokoro it’s 100% better...

This is absolutely my favourite place to grab lunch or for a snack without having to sit down in a restaurant. Its quick and easy and they are very efficient, not only that the food is just so more-rish it just makes my mouth start to water just thinking about it.

I used to go for the egg fried rice and the chicken katsu curry until I found out about chilli chicken and glass noodles. Just a tip, glass noodles are made to order and you have to wait a bit longer but it is definitely worth the wait! This is a must try and you will realise why falling in love with food is the...

**UPDATE: This restaurant is no longer trading and has been taken over by another Korean takeaway! Whenever we've had a long day cycling around in Richmond, JOA is the only place we grab a quite bite to eat. This Halal Korean spot offers delicious sweet and sour chicken on some great egg fried rice. The portions are very generous, even on their 'original' size option. It isn't often that one comes across a halal oriental eatery, so this place is a hidden gem for both it's great food and halal offerings!

This place is a small family business. Lovely every time I stop to eat. I have a card with them and after 10 visits you have a free meal. And believe me they are generous. Food is always good, decent prices, good portion and variety. Staff is friendly and Lovely. You can eat inside or outside is nice and pleasant. Good for a rest after shopping, day out, quick eat. Recommended.
