Honestly, I have never been treated so rudely and disgracefully by staff in my life. I live in the flat upstairs, and for months they have disrupted my living conditions by playing thumping music at ridiculous levels. I have always treated them respectfully and asked them politely if they wouldn't mind turning it down so I can work. They never extend me the same courtesy. I have been ignored, shrugged off, and even insulted. The last time I went to ask an employee, very kindly, to adjust the music levels a little, the response I received was nothing short of disgusting. She refused to answer my direct questions, she didn't look at me, she just shrugged. I actually wondered if there might be a language barrier because she didn't seem to register I was speaking to her. But there wasn't, she was just THAT rude. I was horrified- as was the customer standing next to me. She refused to turn the music down (she said if she did, it would just be turned back up again). She then gave me a dirty look and said, "You're the one who comes in here every day." Firstly, I don't every day- I try to avoid it as much as possible unless I absolutely have to, and it's always to complain. Secondly, even if I did go in every day, why is that a problem for the staff? It's a shop/cafe. Thirdly, she seemed to be suggesting that I was the annoying party who was being unreasonable. Asking them to turn down the trance music so it's not thudding from 11am-6pm so much that it's vibrating my floor is not unreasonable. I have never been treated well in there. If you want a smoothie, I suggest going literally anywhere else. There are good sandwiches at one of the many cafes in the area or up the road at Notting Hill Gate. This was by far the worst, but not the only, time I have been addressed by employees there. They are rude, loud and disrespectful. My advice is to avoid this...
Read moreI’m trying to word this as constructively as possible, but the staff at this particular Joe & The Juice don’t seem to mind offending anyone who walks through the door.
After visiting a couple of times this week, I can safely say yesterday was likely my last visit.
The staff barely look up from making their sandwiches, which, by the way, takes an unusually long time. It feels like there’s an unspoken competition among the team to see who can avoid eye contact with customers the longest, making the ordering process unnecessarily awkward.
Yesterday, I waited over five minutes to even be acknowledged, and I’m convinced it would’ve been longer if I hadn’t spoken up. The server in question, a staff member with short blonde hair, appeared as though they’d rather be anywhere else than behind the counter making smoothies or providing any semblance of customer service.
When I asked for a Joe’s Club sandwich, I was told, “We’re out of chicken at the moment.” While I understand that items can sell out, it’s standard practice for staff to offer alternatives or point customers toward other menu options. That didn’t happen here. I ordered a protein shake instead and left as soon as it was made.
I recognize it can get busy with pick-up orders, and bad weather can make the day tougher, but the basics—like acknowledging customers when they walk in or saying, “I’ll be with you shortly”—make all the difference.
There were four staff members working at the time, so the cold shoulder treatment doesn’t make sense unless that’s how service is intentionally run here. If so, perhaps the customer should be encouraged to match the energy of the store—disinterested, indifferent, and just as unwilling to engage in basic human interaction.
Between the lack of care from the staff and the frustratingly slow service, visiting Joe & The Juice is far from an...
Read moreThe worst customer experience I have ever had.
The staff and atmosphere was terrible. As you walk in, you're met with loud, ear-crushing and explicit music. Immediately you can tell it doesn't fit with the theme of the store.
The staff were laughing and joking around amongst themselves, oblivious to the customers around them. When we ordered, the girl on the till was on her phone, giving delayed responses and didn't even direct me to pay.
Bear in mind I couldn't hear my friend even though I was right next to them, nor the staff members because of the music.
You get a feeling that the staff have gone rogue, perhaps the manager was not in, as they fiddle with the iPad to control the music, dancing around while they should have been making orders. As a result, it took over 20 minutes to make TWO drinks. They even got the size of the drinks wrong.
When they finally made the drinks, I couldn't even hear them call us over, ironic as they spoke shyly under their loud music.
As for the drinks, they were so-so. Fairly simply made with fancy names.
This truly ruined our day out to the area. The manager of this store clearly doesn't care, as seen by their inexperienced and unprofessional staff who shouldn't still have their jobs, let alone any with their attitude. You can also tell by the various bad reviews, stemming a long time, each poorly and ignorantly replied to by the store.
Overall, there's another Joe and the Juice down the road, give that...
