Is this my fav fried chicken ever? ITS TOUGH!! I also love popeyes but do think the Jolibee really is THE BEST
I have rated this store 5* solely based on how good the food is by the way. To explain my experience let me paint a picture:
Around 8pm on a Saturday event, I enter the already crowded store. There were no tables empty and a hustle and bustle around the tills with customers and staff alike.
I ordered on the self ordering screens - which were super easy to use.
The only think I would say is that it takes a little bit longer than KFC to get orders out. I would say I waited upwards of 20 minutes for my order which wasn’t super complicated or large - it just seemed the team were understaffed and dealing with issues with difficult customers as well as a flurry or Deliveroo orders along with making and packing the live orders in store.
The Chickenjoy was DELICIOUS. I ordered the spicy one - dip it in the gravy and this totally blows KFC out of the water. There is actual flavour and actual spice here. Moist tender chicken with a crispy crust. - magical.
The Spaghettijoy is another star from the menu. It’s slightly sweet with minced meat running through the sauce and also pieces of sausage as well. The flavour is balanced well with sweet, salty and tart from the tomato. Don’t forget to ask the team for a fork! 🍴
Don’t sleep on their deserts - The Peach Mango Pie is light years ahead of McDonald’s. Apple pie who??? Although a similar concept the filling was marvellous. That mango is ripe y’all!
Other items I ordered which I think are OKAY: Spicy Chicken Burger - tasted great with a nice brioche bun. Was actually spicy and the lettuce provided a nice crunch. Mango coconut sundae: essentially a vanilla soft serve with a scoop of tinned mango and coconut shaving on top - it did hit the spot but was nothing to hit home for. Pineapple juice: tasted like Tropicana icl lol.
Dropped points for service and atmosphere given they were so understaffed however the food made up for it. 10/10 100/100 definitely go and try the food speaks...
Read moreIt's only a 3 for the food, everything else is a 0. Nice food but the staff are very disorganized and uninterested if you are not Filipino. They had no menus when I went in and they couldn't find one and they really didn't care to find one for me. I asked and was passed from staff to staff who ignored me until I had to prompt them like "I'm here waiting, hello". The only staff that smiled at me was the girl cleaning my table, everyone else was struggling, it's almost like they dont want you there if you are not Filipino. Same staff blankly staring at you will turn into the Cheshire cat when a fellow Filipino walks in. The counter staff look extremely miserable but they will smile for their countrymen. I don't really like the layout of the shop, tables are crammed together with hardly any space and tiny foot stool like seats. it's also quite cold in there temperature wise as well as attitude wise. The food was ok, the spaghetti was really nice, the chips taste just like burger kings and the burger confused me. It was nice but it kind of tasted like chicken even though it was a cheeseburger, the cheese on top was really overpowering too. It tasted seasoned but not like beef, can't put my finger on it. Just has a weird taste. The was also a white sauce, mayonnaise maybe in my burger that I didn't even ask for and nobody asked if I wanted. I have never put mayonnaise or any white sauce on my burger!! The food also was not hot it was warm. I expect my food to be served to me piping hot then I can eat it warm. You serve it to me warm and it gets cold pretty quickly.
I would go back but tbh I don't feel comfortable in there, just be prepared for that if you are not Filipino, there won't be any great customer service for you. Would probably order food to take away next time.
Let me tell you, there's nothing Jolly...
Read moreWe came all the way from Australia and I was delighted to see it is near our hotel but was very disappointed.
Very chaotic place, not so fond of the annoying woman who told me my number will be called if it's ready. Then why did they post in the board that my order was ready? When she left to go somewhere, I saw another younger woman, showed my number and she gave me our order. It was just missing one drink which she quickly picked up from behind her.
That older woman should know better. It is a bit perplexing being told you will be called, when their board says ready! She also pronounces zero as sero sero..etc..very weird when she called out numbers, they shouldn't need to if the numbers are posted on the board. Just need to be more organised and professional. Other foreigners seem to also get confused with different accent for number pronunciation.
I am sure there are Filipinos who can cater to a more varied clientele so put this woman in the kitchen not in customer service. She is not giving positive vibes. I rarely give negative comments but this is for the good of your business.
Food was mediocre too, too much meat, not enough pasta in the spaghetti, lots of sauce not needed, it is very tasty already. Chicken joy was doughy in taste, like need to cook more as I can taste the flour. My hub and I enjoyed the pineapple juice, 😁 We bought worth 27 pounds - 2 yumburgers with fries, spaghetti, 2 peach and mango, chicken joy with spag( good enough) but didn't finish most of the food, ended up being thrown...
