The staff were genuinely nasty at this location. Went there for a mario kart event and it was a fun time. The people running it were cool and the band were great.
Our food was 90 minutes late. Everyone else on our table was served an hour earlier. I came to the bar to ask what the situation was. They said they'd check but walked off and didn't get back to me... I came back 10 minutes later and the guy pointed to his colleague saying "I've told him", so I said "He's serving the bar. I'm not blaming you; I just want to know if our food is on the way." at which point he said "You need to change your energy" or something like that.
Again, I made this very, VERY clear that I wasn't blaming THEM, in particular. All I wanted was assurance that my order was on the way so I could sit down. That's it. They had obviously forgotten us and they were being arsey about it. Eventually, someone did ask what I had ordered so it came 15 minutes later.
I was then at the bar for a drink and the dude I spoke to said "IT'S THERE!" and pointed to the table. I said "I'm here to get a drink" and he clearly ignored me and said again "IT'S OVER THERE!!!" pointing to the table. When he understood I was just waiting to order a drink, he walked off (fair, I don't expect special treatment and am happy to wait my turn) and I didn't get server for 20 minutes while my food went cold, at a mostly empty bar.
I'm not a Karen; I don't often have problems with staff. I'm very polite and I hold my tongue when I'm annoyed because I know staff are under a lot of pressure. These guys were genuinely nasty, and I really hope the manager has a talk with them about it. It was out of order. If you go here, you might have to deal with that. It is what it is. Marioke is a dope event though. Also, we had the smash burger and potatoes (eventually) and they were very nice. Except for the mean staff, everything was good. They really did ruin the night though; stubborn and nasty. Need to sort...

Read moreThe Sunday salsa party is great fun! The live Latin show is amazing, the drinks are cool and affordable, and even the entry fee is reasonable. Plus, the tap water is refreshing and free. However, many of the women there are moody; most spend their time scrolling on their phones or chatting only with other women or leave the venue by 21:00 or before. Honestly, they should be offered a free drink or a small discount to help them loosen up a bit. After all, it’s a dancing party so if you keep saying, “I’m taking a break” or “I don’t want to dance,” maybe this isn’t the right place for you. Imagine if your parents said, “I don’t want to give you money” you wouldn’t like that, right? The ideal woman would be friendly, open to conversation, and willing to engage with anyone who approaches her not just walk away after a three-minute chat, or stand there next to a man in silence, some just answering questions without asking anything back. It’s not a marriage proposal, so it’s essential to show respect to men there rather than embarrassing them infront...
