K Bar — Restaurant in London

Would give this establishment zero stars if possible. Didn’t eat but popped along at 2.30pm as had half an hour to kill before an event around the corner started. Asked if they were open (according to Google they were) and was informed by a rather confused looking and confusing member of staff that we couldn’t have drinks as the bar didn’t open until 3pm but that we could sit out on the (very pretty) porch and have drinks there. Ordered a cocktail, G&T and bottle of water from a lady who looked at us up and down like something she had just scraped off her the sole of her shoe. My partner was asked what gin he would like and he said he wasn’t fussy but was pressed so chose a well known brand. After waiting for over 20 minutes started to wonder why even the water hadn’t arrived. Went to the WC and asked if drinks were nearly ready due to our event and was informed they were just coming. After about another 10 minutes of waiting outside, sat next to about seven idle staff members the woman who looked at us as if we were cameos from a Dickensian novel came back to inform us that they didn’t have the requested gin in stock. That took 30 minutes?! At that point I became somewhat impatient with her rude demeanour but politely asked if any gin could be used as we were now late for our event. Eventually we were served the G&T and pathetic looking Mary Pickford (glass half empty - see photo taken before anything had been consumed). Had to down it in a rush and asked for the woman’s name in case needed for a later complaint. I can tolerate slow service most of the time but not being looked down upon and treated as if I’m not rich enough to visit somewhere because I’m not donned in Prada. Horrible. Insult to injury, the measly cocktail, single G&T and tiny bottle of sparking water cost £48 without service charge!! Horrid, horrid establishment and not surprised to read that others have left feeling equally...

Overall an okay experience. Atmosphere is great, the interior design of the bar is well thought through and gives off a great vibe. We were welcomed by a very nice man at the reception who led us to the bar. As soon as we were seated we were ignored. No one greated us, gave us the menu or made recommendations. We didn’t feel welcomed at all. We ended up having to ask other guest to have their menus to choose our drinks. After approximately 15 mins a man took our order and awkwardly asked for our ID‘s doing the math right in front of us (loudly) and then came back 2 mins later because he forgot our order. We waited about 10 mins for our drinks and complementary water (which had a strong chlorine smell - but maybe that’s just london tap water?) and were not served any almonds or olives, as all the other guests around us had. The drinks were good, but at this price point rather underwhelming. Presentation was okay, flavours were good. An overall conclusion: due to not really feeling welcomed nor being treated equally to other customers it wasn’t an experience we enjoyed very much and even though we were ready to spend some money here we would have rather spent our time (and money)...

K bar is a fantastic venue with a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, and the great selection of drinks really sets it apart. The drinks are expertly crafted, and the overall experience is enhanced by the friendly and attentive service of the staff. And Adrian was particularly outstanding during our visit, with his personable and attentive service really standing out.

Adrian's exceptional service truly helped to elevate our Valentines day evening, he was able to provide knowledgeable recommendations on drinks, and his friendly and engaging manner really helped to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
