I found this lovely-looking afternoon tea, and I really wanted to try it. This spot is inside the beautiful Kensington Hotel. We walked in from the main front door of the Kensington hotel, and the staff guided us towards the back to where the Town House is located. Once seated, our server explained their current afternoon tea offering. It is called the London Landmarks Afternoon Tea, and features all the major landmarks around the city. The menu was quite lovely, and came with a London map of all the notable and historic landmarks. The afternoon tea will feature many of these landmarks, and you get to see what they are, and where they are. The map is given to the patrons as a souvenir, which I thought was really nice! First, we were served with their ā€œSavouriesā€ course. I didn’t know we were going to receive anything other than whatever comes on the three-tier afternoon items, so we were delighted! They were all so very tasty! After we were finished with them, they brought out this beautiful stand in the shape of London Eye! Wow! They call their menu ā€œa celebration of Londonā€ and I totally agree! It was fun to eat desserts in the shapes of famous buildings. The service was excellent! Courteous, warm, and polite. We were very well taken care of the entire time. Thank you! If you are in London and want to try some tasty afternoon tea, filled with everything that is London, give this place a try!

I was treated to the highly talked about London landmark afternoon tea. The venue is stunning, the table was well laid. The staff were very attentive and explained the concept thoroughly. We ordered our teas first, there was great variety. My only complaint is the tea pots. The waitress spilt tea over the table, proceeded to cover it with a napkin. When I poured my own tea I had to hold the top of the pit which was very hot as it was metal. Even when holding down the lid it spilt all over my saucer and down the table. We were served our favourites shortly.agter our tea, both of us attending have gluten allergies. The quiche was delicious as was the potato item and the beef in the pie was gorgeous the only downfall being that the pie top was very dry and hard. The gorgeous London eye came out after, beautifully presented. Again this concept was explained thoroughly by the waitress. The sandwiches and sweets were delicious. The scones were very stodgy and not the best gluten free ones I have been served. The jam was very runny and cream not sweet enough for my liking. I would be very cautious with ordering gluten free as we had to relay it several times to different members of staff, four in total who visited our table throughout the course of the afternoon.

Process Errors

Generally a good experience, excellent quality food and staff individually were all polite and well rehearsed. There were a number of issues however which meant the experience as a whole didn't really come together. Staff never came to explain the food having said that someone would be straight over to do so. We waited for this and gave up before starting the food. Requests for water were accepted but forgotten and we had to ask again. Drinks were never offered to be replenished, we had to ask. We were asked to leave our table after just over 2 hours due to another booking, something not warned of initially. They couldn't find all of our coats at the end. They came over with 2 coats which weren't ours, which caused a neighbouring table to come rushing over concerned as they saw their coats offered to us. It was all light hearted but poor for this sort of place. All in all recommendable, but staff need to join up...
