I always go to this Cafe for a breakfast or a quick lunch since this March I moved to Lancaster Gate. The food is pricey but that is the only cafe around my house and the staff was friendly especially they are dog-friendly, so my dog and I keep visiting them.
Until this noon, a girl who I never met before, served me a sandwich. Normally, the guy always asked me if I would like to toast it. She packaged the sandwich without asking and asked me to pay. I was totally fine with that, as she might be new or she was busy at that time. I couldn't say anything sooner as she was very fast in taking out the sandwich and putting it in a paper bag. I took out the card and asked politely, could you toast it, please. She took out the sandwich in an impatient way and turned around to toast the sandwich. At meanwhile, she was back to me and moaned that "you should say it first if you want to toast it". I was too shocked to hear that so I asked: "excuse me?". She turned around and looked at me like I was the one who did something wrong. From her eyes, I know she is racist to me. I didn't want to argue with her to ruin my day. I looked at the guy who I have met more than 40 times in the past 7 months. He said you should say it loudly. I was speechless at that moment. I wouldn't think that is the right way to treat customers. I asked him "is it nice to tell off a customer with her back when I did nothing wrong, especially I came here every week for months?" the guy didn't reply me, but the girl asked "really?!"
I felt very sad and hurt to be racial discriminated by a cafe literally next to my house. I wish I wasn't a regular customer to them in the past 7 months. Asian customers should be careful with them. Nobody...
Read moreI visited the café today to get some lunch with my girlfriend. We had one quiche Lorraine, a salami baguette, one ham & cheese feuilette (i think it was called like that), and a chocolate cheesecake with two mocha. I literally live in Lancaster gate and I could have easily took everything home and ate it there, but actually decided to sit in (absolutely regret my choice). This café is absolutely a rip off. The quiche is priced at 6.50£ take away to eat in I paid 8.99£. Basically to eat in I paid more than 2£ and that applied for pretty much everything I had in the café, baguette to eat it was 6.99£. I was honestly shocked, like London is expensive but not like this. This place is an absolute rip off, to add the food wasn't even that great and it wasn't worth the money. For everything I paid around 33£, with that amount of money I could have had so much better somewhere else. Who charges 7£ for a baguette? Are you crazy? I don't recommend this place to anyone, and if you want to get the desserts which are actually good you should definitely take away. Whoever is the owner of this place really needs to rethink about the prices, it's literally a tourists trap...

I had the pleasure of visiting this cozy café, and I must say—it was an absolute delight. The warm, rustic ambiance made it feel like home, with charming brick walls, soft lighting, and beautifully set wooden tables.
Now, let’s talk about the food! The bagel sandwich was fresh and flavourful, packed with crisp lettuce and perfectly ripe tomatoes. And the cappuccino? Simply divine—rich, creamy, and topped with a perfect dusting of cocoa. Served with a wafer biscuit on the side, it’s those little touches that make all the difference.
The attention to detail, the friendly atmosphere, and the quality of the food and drinks make this spot a must-visit. If you're looking for a place to relax, enjoy great coffee, and have a delicious bite, this is it! Highly...
