Disrespectful Service on My Birthday
I came to Leo’s Restaurant with three friends to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, the way we were treated left us feeling deeply disappointed.
When I asked if we could have some of my birthday cake after our meal, the waiter said it would be £5 per person. I asked him to double-check, but he never came back. I had to follow up myself, and another staff member — tall, with sagging pants — confirmed the charge: £20 just to eat a cake we brought ourselves. No explanation, no smile, just a cold and dismissive attitude.
We felt completely unwelcome. It was my birthday, and instead of being treated with kindness, we felt like we were a burden.
To make things worse, one of the plates we were served on had a visible chip — something we only noticed after we got home and looked at the photos. Just another example of how little care was given to our experience.
Thankfully, we ended up at a lovely nearby pub called Nobody Ask Me, where the owner greeted us with a warm smile and said, “Honey, don’t be silly — of course you can have your cake here!” That simple act of kindness meant the world to me.
As for Leo’s? Never again. Terrible service on what should’ve been a...
Read moreWe did a walk in at about 1400 on a Sunday for a late birthday lunch. Firstly I want to say how amazing our waitress was who went out of her way to make the lunch special. Wish I took her name to give her a shout out. Thank you
Shamefully I was on such a birthday high that I had forgotten many of the names of the excellent dishes. The lamb with sous vide tomato was on another level. Melt in the bloody mouth level and packed with so much flavour. Have never tasted tomato like that.
My 2 boys had the lasagne and loved it. Beautiful. Wish I’d taken more photos of the food but I’m too greedy and impatient for all of that.
Lunch ended with a wonderful and rich walnut ice cream topped with a lit candle- compliments of the chef. 🥹 big shout out to the chef from Sardinia who came by to our table to talk about some of the dishes. Passionate guy!
I forgot to mention that the music is on fire. I must’ve Shazammed about 3/4 times.
Summary: Would I have ever expected to eat that well, on Chats? No. Would I go back? Without a question,...
Read moreErm, there's a rather one-star review by a chap called Michael here (probs beneath mine) and I have to hold my hand up a bit here. I was on the table at lunch next to him & contributed to his terrible time. We took up a table for 3 when there were 2 of us and Michael and his two companions had to sit next to the door, and definitely gave me the deserved side eye. I'm all elbows and I think might have inadvertently elbowed him. I subsequently was tremendously loud and took up a disproportionate part of the staffs time. I apologise all round. That said he did seem a little bit impatient, loudly yelling that he hadn't got his bread around 2 minutes after ordering it whilst consuming his starter. Also the nerve on his temple was throbbing in an alarming manner. I took the cowards route out and exited at the shouty bread and throbbing temple moment but Michael, if you are ever in again and I'm here (I am the tall Sri Lankan gentleman), I'll buy you a drink. As for an actual review, Leo's is fabulous! as long as you don't...
