The reason why I give one star only, is because the cashier guy was rude to a woman:
This woman approached the place and tried to grab a piece of bread? on a tray with the sign: "for customers only". The cashier guy immediately told her, in the rudest way, that she cannot grab food from the tray as she is not a customer, followed by "don't you know how to read? look at the sign". She responded that she was going to buy product, but not after he treated her like that, to what he responded "go away, we don't need you, we have other 100 customers".
I am unaware if this woman has done it before, or if there is a reason why the cashier considered she deserved to be treated that way. I can tell you that no one, under no circumstances should be treated that way. It was humiliating.
I am also unsure if there was any racism involved, as this woman was wearing a muslim veil and seemed to have a middle eastern accent, while the attendants happily offer free falafel to other (white) women passing by, without requiring them to buy anything first.
I don't know if this guy owns the place, but if not, I strongly advise the owners to hire someone else. I don't know the name of the rude cashier, but it happened on 13/02/22 at 1:30ish pm, and in our conversation he mentioned he is Indian.
The food was average, perhaps 3 stars. BTW, the location in maps is wrong, although the pictures and my card invoice confirm that Magic Falafel...
Read moreMagic Falafel in Camden Market, London, serves up an unforgettable falafel sandwich that is a must-try for anyone visiting the area. The first bite is a burst of flavors—crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside, the falafel is seasoned to perfection with a blend of herbs and spices. The sandwich is generously stuffed with fresh, vibrant veggies like crunchy cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, and crisp lettuce, all layered with creamy hummus that adds a delightful richness.
What truly elevates this sandwich is the balance of textures and tastes. The warm, fluffy pita holds everything together, making it easy to enjoy on the go while exploring Camden Market. A drizzle of their special tahini sauce ties it all together, adding a slight tang that complements the earthy falafel. Every bite is a harmonious mix of savory, fresh, and zesty, making it not only satisfying but also a standout street food experience. If you’re looking for a delicious, plant-based treat, Magic Falafel is the...
Read moreMy 2nd time eating from this place after 2 weeks as I had to get my watch strap changed at TickTock Camden. But Hemanshu, the manager of Magic Falafel is one of the kindest and most genuine people I know and he really loves what he is doing. It was empty at 5:40pm and I was able to have a great conversation with him. He even offered me 2 extra Falafels (1 for sampe when I asked him and at the last 2 bites of my Falafel Wrap) for free 🥺. I also noticed that he added more of the potato fries in this Wrap compared to his colleague last time (when it was very busy) and that made the whole Wrap just come together beautifully. I opted out the Mango Curry as it almost felt like it had some bitterness to it, asked for Extra Spicy (which had an amazing Indian kick to it) but the Tahini was so damn good and smooth. I can drink that stuff! I'll be back if I'm in Camden again and have a nice chat with Hemanshu again :) I can't recommend this place...
