I would definitely recommend to come here, parking at the rear thats free after 7pm, lit up from the outside the pink restaurant logo and Chinese Lion welcomes you to the restaurant that is elegant and sexy, tables and seating is comfortable for two or a whole crew, we sat by the bar because we like food, booze and good music, there is a Mayfair restaurant vibe for eating/ socialising and a kind of party vibe, food wise was a wow, I thought my mum and dad was in the kitchen cooking and they were successful Chinese restaurateurs in China Town Leicester Square for over a decade. Dishes are well priced and generous, this restaurant does not cook with msg. A comfortable wine, sake and cocktail list, shame i saw champagne but it wasn't on the wine list so I didn't ask incase the price was intimidating. Hot and sour soup and sweet corn soup is a must they're silky and flavourful, if a restaurant has bad soup base then nothing will taste good; these are the Chinese equivalents to onion soup in a French restaurant, 3 of us had the two soups to wet our appetites, grandma's style braised beef that melted in your mouth, 3 baskets of dim sum which was made to order per order, you can only get that maybe in a fine dining restaurant, we also had lobster noodles in ginger and spring onions, live lobster with plenty of garnishing really made our mouth water, perfectly chopped and prepared I used a fork and pair of chopsticks and got all the meat out easily, my daughter went hands and tools on. We were stuffed and further stuffed with birthday cake then food happy coma. 3 persons, free parking, 6 courses complying of 2 soups, 3 baskets dim sum, 1 special main, 1 extra special lobster plus noodles, 3 strong cocktails and 3 large dessert shots total bill including great service £103, we will definitely be a regular at this hidden gem 💎

So it’s Sunday night and I thought I’d treat myself to a Chinese takeaway, being Chinese I often get cravings for certain dishes! Tonight it was grandmas pork belly with rice, hot and sour soup and drunken chicken. The pork was pretty tasty! Just what I expected for the dish and the rice mixed with the sauce was 👌🏼. The hot and sour soup was very decent, spicy with a good amount of ingredients, a little too much corn flour (makes it thick) but that is often the tendency with H&SS. Lastly the reason for the 3 stars... the chicken! Expecting Something similar to Hainan chicken what I got was tiny slices or poached chicken (guessing around 300-400g) with not too much flavour served on a tiny bit of lettuce. But maybe it tastes amazing? No it was quite basic and actually a bit dry 😕 I couldn’t really eat it. I would actually still feel positive about my dinner if it wasn’t for the fact that the chicken was nearly £9! Eep! Do they serve it in store like this?! I hope not. I don’t usually do this but I took snaps too, just don’t want anyone to feel the same disappointment 🤗

I wasn’t expecting much of this place, when we arrived the tables were dirty and the menus were too. But, we had some of the best dumplings I’ve had in London, the veggie spinach ones were perfect! Filled with vegetables, you can tell they are handmade with care and love. My partner had the pork soup dumplings and he loved them. The mains were good, the vegetables were gorgeously cooked with a generous amount of garlic and ginger, the rice was packed of fresh veg, but a tad on the oily side. The tofu was decedent and delicious, had a great red wine flavour. Service was also great. We weren’t so keen on the club music, it didn’t really fit in with the concept, which makes me feel the brand is a little confused. They should stick to the authentic , healthy and homemade food and choose a suitable playlist 🙂

On Friday, 25th September 2020, I went out with my family to Lulu Shanghai. It was really packed, but we had already booked in advance. We were greeted by a young lovely Thai Lady, She took our details and did our temperatures. we were taken to our tables. The atmosphere was really good and soothing to see so many people. We haven't been out of the house for a couple of months.

We were given our menu's, they had a vegan menu as well which was unexpected for a Chinese restaurant. After 5-10 minutes, one of the waiters approached us and asked if we wanted any drinks. We ordered a hot bottle of Nigori Sake. We also gave him our orders. the charming young lad introduced us to the dim sum menu and he told us everything is hand made to order also told us that there will be a 20-25min wait as they were extremely busy. I told him that we have nothing but time. Furthermore he said that our mains could arrive first which wasn't a problem.

My order

D4 Vegetable Dumplings D5 Shanghai Xiao Long Bao D6 Crystal Prawn Dumplings D7 Shao mai F2 Fried Crystal Prawn Dumplings F5 Prawn with Garlic Crispy Springroll F7 Mini veg Spring rolls A12 Salt and pepper Squid B1 Grandma style braised pork ( must try this) B2 Grandma style Braised beef V4 Morning Glory in Garlic Sauce R2 X 2 Egg Fried Rice

So our sake arrived and we were chatting to each other, the food arrived after 20mins. The dim sum at this restaurant is to die for. Much better than Chinatown without a doubt. The staff here are friendly and they know their job. Anyone reading this review must try the B1 and B2. My family loved it. As per 1st experience I will be going back to this restaurant in the heart of Stoke Newington Church Street.

Too bad I can only give 5 star's, if there was an option for more stars they deserve it.

See you soon my Chinese...

Would have given 0 stars if it were an option. Where do I even start. I arrived at 1930hrs and 2 hours later I still hadn't been served! The restaurant had a few groups on the tables present but they wasn't overwhelmed by customers. I ordered some Sake, 2 starters, 3 mains with sides. After 1hour sitting there with nothing on my table I eventually got my Sake(alcohol) after asking numerous amounts of times and after 3 or more tables being served before me. (Although they arrived after me) 1hour30 into waiting and my starters arrived which was lovely. The waiter who gave me the name (Andrei) was the younger guy that works there with the more round shaped head was very rude and abrupt, and i also had a smaller lady that gave me the name (Jam) Many times Andrei said one minute and never came back. After asking and waiting for my meal Jam then brought me out one main meal.. when I asked about the other one she told me she was bringing it with my starters because I told her I wanted it as starters which is a lie as she had already cleared my starters. She then apologies and said few more minutes til my other main arrived. 15 mins later a main was brought to me by Andrei who told me it was chicken which I hadn't ordered. Jam then had taken back the first main to keep warm as my 2nd main wasn't ready. After 2 hours of waiting, both mains had come out with only 1 side of noodles. I asked where my 2nd side was and Jam started getting aggressive saying I hadn't ordered a 2nd side. When we went through the order she had written down she realised that she had forgotten to order my 2nd main. After 2 hours and 15 minutes of waiting I only received my starter and a drink. I told them I had enough paid for what I received...
