Popped in for a bite and a drink. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. I bought a half-pint of Spitfire, staff had advised it was the most popular beer, and it turned out to be a truly wonderful drink, very very nice. Had also ordered a soup, this turned out to be very thick and filling. Had got this first, as had just arrived in London after four hours on train, and after booking into hotel, wanted to eat something fast. Shortly after, I got my main course of sausage and mash. Good standard pub fare, from a good standard menu. Having said that, the sausages (all three of them), were their own sausages, with a Spitfire flavour. This was on a good decent-sized bed of mashed potato. Second drink was a half-pint of Bishop's Finger. However I did not enjoy it as much, in comparison to the Spitfire. The Bishop's Finger is probably a very good beer, on it's own, but not after the Spitfire. Maybe it would be better the other way around? Would advise to not sit too close to the door on a cold winter's night, however would advise to go to this pub for food and drink. The crowd was mixed, informal, and seemed slightly a younger crowd, than an older crowd, and seemed a decent lot. The staff behind the bar and in the kitchen were all good and gave...
Read moreReally liked this place. We turned up from KGX and managed to get a pint in no time. The staff were welcoming with smiles and greetings. The food menu looked great and I sampled the Nachos and Loaded Chips (minus Bacon because I'm not a fan) and the nachos were on point! I shared them with another and the plate was a great size for a 'small plate' so I was pleasantly surprised. The loaded chips arrived and they were immense. I got them to remove the baconnaise and asked for spicy ketchup and it came looking class! I really enjoyed my food, the Blueberry IPA from Shepherd Neame was sublime and the feel of the place was simply chilled but lively. Will come back the next time I'm down here 🍻😀

Read moreCame here today for Sunday lunch with some friends and sorely disappointed to be told that the kitchen is closed until 3pm as they are too busy. Never heard of a London pub with a kitchen closed during normal Sunday lunch hours. Regret having ordered drinks now.
EDIT: It is now 3pm and I have been told it will take another 20 minutes for me to be able to order. Based on the fact the previous estimate was a lie, I don’t hold much hope this time I have been told the truth, so time to go. I left my friends behind as I just needed to eat (we were the 2pm booking on table 2) so if I find out what time they end up getting any food I will update this review.
EDIT 2: 5pm and no sign of food yet. I’ll...
