Great food! Meraz is just off Brick Lane in one of the side streets. Go here to avoid the overcrowded and touristy main street and noisy restaurants. The evironment is simple, a bit nordic minimalism with the wooden walls and no other decoration. It’s off license so if you need a beer for your meal, you need to bring it yourself, and thats perfectly fine. But, you come here for the food. Fancy drinks you can get many other places. So, the food. We were three eating dinner. Had some starters and full dinner. The portions was very nicely done in size. Food came super quick and tasted really good. We all ordered different dishes and shared them. Nice and tender chicken and lamb. Perfectly spiced, for us anyway. Ask for more spicy if you’re really experienced, otherwise the general seasoning should do it. Service was pollite and quick. You don’t go here for the romantic evening or the Michelin professional service, but for the food! With friends, family or by yourself when you want a really good and afordable meal. Meraz deserves easily a five star review for the high quality coocking! In a way it’s a shame to tell everyone about this place, because it’s a nice hidden secret, but they also need customers to keep business running😁 So, go here! Enjoy a really good meal and tell your...
Read moreAvoid this restaurant at all costs! I have been to hundreds of restaurants in London, and I do not exaggerate when I say that this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The starters which were the onion bhaji and samosas were so bland, I'd rather eat fried cardboard. The chicken curry was too runny and the chicken was rubbery. The lamb chops had no chilli and not enough salt. The biryani was absolutely tasteless. I felt offended at having this pathetic food put in front of me. The waiter did not apologise, or provide a solution. The manager/owner was sitting looking at his phone on another table. They also tried to charge us for poppadoms, which they didn't even bring! The worst part of all of this: the restaurant was recommended to me and my partner, by a local business owner under the name of 'A&Y Wines London', which is located around the corner. He lied to me saying it is the best food in town. I should of seen it sooner: the A&Y owner and the owner of the restaurant look identical, making me assume they are related. How dare he recommend his family shop; complete liar!! I am about to leave a bad review for his shop too! He...
Read moreThe most important thing about this place is , the food is NOT AT ALL Indian. This is a Bangladeshi Cuisine with Bollywood songs in the background. With respect to our experience we tried Mix platter - The chicken tikka was not cooked properly. The Lamb kebab was dry and Lamb chop was average. Would not recommend this. Chicken Chutney - It was ok but portion size was quite small compared to the price paid. We were expecting achari chicken, the chutney chicken had No chutney. I think they call it chutney because chicken was torn apart into layers. Again this was not an exceptional dish. Chicken Biryani - It was nice but the portion size was quite small Onion pakora - portion size was too small Saag Ponir - It was a tinned saag, not worth the money we have paid Tandoori roti, chappati and naan - all ok Veg biryani - I would highly recommend to AVOID THIS. For the same quantity of food we paid half price in TIFFINS last week and quality was far superior as compared to this place. So If you are looking for INDIAN CUISINE, AVOID THIS PLACE...
