Over rated and over priced !
I know this resturant quite well but hadn't been for a while.. since then .. the prices have been inflated quite alot and the ppl running it are pushy in making you spend more.I mean £75 for a curry for 2 I think is OTT. The guy in charge was quite fake and a real salesmen .. upsellng.. 2 popodums became 4, 2 kebabs became 4 .. So they were quite pushy in that respect.Charging £3.50 for a tiny bottle of sprite ( they didn't have lemonade ) is ridiculous. Be advised they only do 1 red wine by the glass all other red wines are by the bottle only ! . The food was ok not outstanding. Being an Indian I know a good curry from an ok one. They also rushed us at the end which wasn't appreciated. They didn't use to add a automatic service charge but they have started to do that. I think the customer should be able to decide if they want to,based on service and how much.. On the plus side our waiter was v polite and accommodating... the resturant did also make a dish bit more spicy upon...
Read moreWe ate here a few days ago, not having visited for quite a few years. Whilst the food was perfectly decent, the cleanliness of the place really was not. I'm not sure how they achieved a five star rating in terms of the 'Food Hygiene Rating Scheme' if the premises were in a similar state at the time of that inspection - a year ago, I think. Last week the general level of cleanliness was very obvious. Fruit flies buzzing around, filthy A/C unit (at ceiling level) and trunking, furniture behind the bar area completely disintegrating, filthy floor, decor grubby, cardboard placed on the floor outside kitchen area and in the bar area, etc. A lack of care on this level makes me question other aspects of cleanliness and hygiene. The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme takes into account cleanliness of facilities so premises should not be in this state. I NEVER leave ratings, unless good - but our visit to this restaurant made me quite cross. Really, Monty's - you need to get this sorted. I wont be back...
Read moreI was at Monty’s Ealing broadway this evening I had a great experience. I’m a vegetarian I asked Sanjeev who seems like the manager and I specifically sad to him that I’m a vegetarian and plz can you make sure there is no cross contamination between the meat and the vegetarian food. I was completely taken aback when he said we have an open kitchen and you can stand there and watch them cook your order. I did ! People Monty’s are proper professional .I was really impressed with the way chefs prepared the order they also asked me wether I wanted hot ,Mild or medium . I asked for medium hot when I eventually seated at my table for one I was pampered like a maharaja (I think they were working for a tip 😉) and to finish it off they gave a chocolate named after curry mint. I highly recommend everyone to have the experience of dinning at Monty’s...
