Really poor low-alcohol offering (four overpriced cans/bottles - the stout looked like it might be decent but the IPA was watery, and no sours). When we asked the barman (owner?) whether he would consider increasing the low-alcohol offering, he was completely dismissive ("Sorry, never doing that"), as if it were an offensive suggestion. Apparently he is only willing to do it in Dry January, presumably at great personal sacrifice. Embarrassing, given that the craft beer scene is one of the few that is creative enough to genuinely excel in creating phenomenal low-alcohol products. Also makes the antiquated assumption that people who care about beer will only want alcoholic products: if you've just polished off a 10% stout, maybe you would like a breather?
I would have considered going back to try some of their 'proper' beer, but don't want to give them my money after that interaction. It's not like there's a lack of great craft beer elsewhere in London, so it's just a shame this venue takes up a sizeable chunk of the...
Read moreGuy bartender tonight - rude. Ignored me needing to pay for a simple can from the fridge for a very long time, in favour of completing longer/complicated orders. I decided to join friends and pay later, when he then shows up with card reader. I thank him for finally noticing, to which he replies sure he has eyes everywhere. Erm, so - he admitted to pretending to ignore me?! Quite creepy. Disgusting service. I'm Asian and can only hope this was not a factor.
Edit: response to 'Tasha' - my place at the bar was before others who had placed orders thank you - I do not know what you are referring to here? And my complaint was that it was with knowing, yes on purpose. Please don't gaslight customers and improve...
Read moreAmazing selection of beers and ciders with a whole range on tap as well as four full fridges. This is a Mecca to drinking. They don't really hit the mark for wines but they do wha they do well and that's beer!
Recently reopened following lockdown, it's all take away at the moment and you can chose from the beers in the fridges or they can make you up a can on the spot from the draught beers. Clever!
When the bar is fully reopened, it would be nice to get some comfy seats or sofas in there, and the menu could do with an update and additions but otherwise a welcome addition to...
