I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nando's, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. Read moreI was served by the manager Kerin who I felt was extremely rude. A lot of eye rolling and huffing and puffin. Before placing my order, He said there is No Peri Tamer, No Rice, No Pineapple.
So I put my order in while my daughter went to check what my nephew would like instead of the peri tamer. Kerin was rolling his eye's. My nephew came over to the till and asked what the other options were I pointed them out. He went for a medium. Ask kerin about the halloumi and if they came with a crispy coating he said I don't know it's halloumi with a chilli Jam and again rolled his eye's and he kept rolling his eye's and huffing. Which made me feel like I was bothering him. Poor customer service.
My daughter ordered her meal after myself and when he put the order through. She had realised he did not state what piece of chicken she wanted. so she asked him if she could have a leg piece. He again rolled his eyes and then went over to the cook.
Unacceptable treatment, unacceptable behaviour especially from management who should be setting the standard of customer service.
After being seated we could hear shouting, He had gathered at least four member's of staff and was shouting at them infront of a customers. He then left the floor came back out about twenty minutes to half an hour later in his own clothes and was just standing around staring at the staff. One member of staff was replacing the tissues where the sink was and he sort of nudged him open the tissue dispenser and gave the member of staff a dirty look and again rolled his eye's. I believe the staff was working extremely hard to give good customer service especially with it being very busy. The manager I am absolutely shocked at his behaviour and attitude. I actually felt quite bad for the members of staff. People think because they work in area's like Brixton it gives them a right to be rude or give poor customer service. Read moreOk. Let me begin with a slight degree of compassion on this one... Firstly, the staff in Brixton Nandos are very young yet committed, and I want to stress they're the reason why this review didn't befall a one star score.
However, Nandos' once vibrant and enjoyable experience in their Brixton branch has become a venue to avoid.
Upon arriving on a Thursday evening, we were told that we would have to wait up to 20 minutes before being seated, despite around 50% of the tables being vacant. This we discovered was due to Nandos' recent policy of "cutting staff to save on costs and thus keeping customers queued for entry as opposed to having them seated, so as not to overwhelm staff". Of which the few staff who were present appeared extremely young, and were rushed off their feet.
I sincerely hope this isn't Nandos' new business strategy for enthusiastic and youthful, yet cheap, staff labour!
Moreover, I'm sure the economics would determine that more staff allow for increased custom and so more revenue; but what do I know?
On what should be one their busiest evenings of the week (Thursday), was in fact a miserable experience for me and my guest, and no doubt other customers: • knives and forks had run out, and weren't particularly clean • ketchup and other sauces were all in use despite reduced customer presence • queue for the till orders went out the door, with a single member of staff serving. Luckily we ordered via the Nandos website • food arrived at different times, wedges arriving long before the burger • ice machine wasn't working depsite the hot weather • staff, whom I feel sorry for, were clearly run off their feet
Nandos, please do not believe your once high level of popularity affords you enough credit to deliver a substandard dining experience. Less focus on your Deliveroo home delivery service, which is now clearly taking precedence, and greater emphasis on customers who have chosen to attend your establishments...
