worst shop ever!!!!! Avoid do not recommend Firstly i been to all their other branches, no branches has had this attitude at all, all the bags are free, all the staff are friendly! I don't know if they think China town branch is some sort of monopoly or something that they can do what they like and still be in business... well obviously this place deservers a 0 but Google is too nice I went to pay at the counter, the staff was rude to the max! i went to shop there twice, and 2 different ladies served me, they were all rude to the max. One of the cashier even went as far as to stare at me the whole time while i was queuing which made me so uncomfortable. As a Chinese person myself, the till staff tried to speak to me in English even though they heard me speak in Chinese and i looked like a Chinese person. When i reply in English to them, they become rude and obnoxious as if i purposefully don't want to speak Chinese to them. I speak fluent English can understand English perfectly. When i was asked to write down my membership postcode, i started writing then one of the staff even started yelling at me because she thinks i don't understand English and started writing the name on my membership card and then she didn't even understand a simple postcode letter(my handwriting is neat and clear to understand)... which is even more frustrating because i have to repeat it several times so what was the point of writing it down in the first place? In addition, the staff apparently had the most wonderful conversation despite the fact that there is a lot of people waiting at the back as well!!! the staff that served me have to keep stopping to have a chat with the lady beside her which means that i had to wait at least 5 minutes more to pay and leave the shop because she would always stop to chat instead of scanning my foods!!!! worst place to visit ever, the shop is incredibly small you always in the way of someone. I WOULD GIVE A 0 STAR BUT GOOGLE WONT...

I would have given only 1 or 2 stars based on recent dining experience but increased to 3 stars because I dined here previously for lunch / dim sum on a quiet day and it was a better experience. However, the recent dinner I had here was on a busy evening. Unfortunately it appears this restaurant is a completely different experience depends on whether it is busy times or not. I would recommend avoiding it in busy times / public holidays as they don't appear to be equipped to handle the pressure.

There was significant waiting time to be seated. This was communicated to us so no issues with this at all and fully accepted.

However there was significant delay to take order and serve the food eventually without any communication or updates which was not great. More than 1.5 hours before food arrived. The wait staff didn't keep diners updated and there were no ETA for food. Two other tables left as they couldn't wait and were frustrated with lack of communication. We were desperately hungry so we waited instead of leaving which I now regret.

The worst part of this was the fact that the protein on soup, noodles and fried rice were all cold on every dish. The rice and noodles tasted nice but ruined with cold chicken and pork. We complained to the wait stuff who instead of admitting fault claimed that is how the food is supposed to be, i.e their proteins in food is always cold and offered to microwave the food. This is unacceptable. For the amount we paid and how long we waited, cold meat on every dish was unacceptable.

In summary, restaurant is not suitable in busy times. Would have accepted the issues somewhat if they were communicated. However the nonchalance on serving cold dishes and lack of communication to diners resulted in a very poor experience. I would recommend dining here only on non busy days. Avoid when public holidays or when Chinatown is busy...

I shared dinner here with 5 work colleagues, and we each ordered things for our personal tastes but ended up sharing with each other. Two ordered the Vegetarian shared meal for two and boy, was it a lot of food for the $. The stir-fried tofu was the most delicious of the many plates they were served. One person ordered chicken spring rolls and fried rice, and she devoured the fried rice. Two co ordered crispy duck, a rice pancake dish, and a sweet & sour dish that were each uniquely flavored and healthy portions. I ordered the crispy fried lamb with ginger and scallions. The serving presentation reminded me of fajitas in a Mexican restaurant. The server brought a flaming hot cast iron plate supported by a pine wood tray.(it was so hot you could detect the odor of the wood sap) There was also a bowl of the entree which was poured onto the cast iron plate to further cook the entree. It sizzled, it smoked, and the air at the table was fragrant with ginger and garlic. 😋 I devoured my portions of food, and it stayed nice and warm on the skillet plate. There was plenty of ginger, scallions, lamb, and a few pieces of bokchoy, and together they were a taste I won't forget for a long time. Definitely some of the best authentic Chinese food I have tasted in many years. I will definitely return to New Loon Fung. I also want to compliment all of the servers and staff working here; they work as a well-oiled machine and keep the food coming, tables cleared, and customers happy...

We had a great experience at New Loon Fung Restaurant in Chinatown, London. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The restaurant spans three floors and even has an accessible lift for those who need it, making it convenient for all guests. Our meal started with the delicious chicken and sweet corn soup, followed by an array of dumplings that were both delicate and flavorful. The chicken buna was a standout dish, along with a variety of noodles, egg fried rice, and several curry options. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The staff encouraged us to use chopsticks to immerse ourselves in the Chinese tradition. However, understanding that we were not accustomed to using them, they kindly provided knives, forks, and spoons without any fuss. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, offering excellent value for money. The overall dining experience was enhanced by the attentive service and the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. New Loon Fung Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy tasty Chinese cuisine in London. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and a welcoming environment made our visit memorable.

At the heart of London's Chinatown l, which is well worth a visit, for anyone visiting London. We booked as we had a party of eight, however they have two floors which can cater for large groups. We chose one of the set menus for 6 and had some extra dishes from the younger diners in the group. Staff were excellent and the cost was very reasonable under £300 for eight with a couple of bottles of wine.

TL;DR: poor service, preposterous excuses When I arrived, the restaurant was half empty yet the staff tried to put me on the outermost table by the stairs, I said I prefer to sit inside and she reluctantly took me in. During the meal, when I asked for extra condiment (which is so common in dim sum culture) they said my dishes do not come with the condiment I asked. I can order another dish for the condiment I wanted. I also asked for extra spring onion to put on top of my congee, and they said it already has spring onion in it, so they will not provide. This is the FIRST time I’ve ever been told something so outrageous in a dim sum place. When paying the bill, I asked to split the bill in half. The manager refused and claimed that they only have one card machine and the wifi is slow. I am holding up the machine for the whole restaurant. I also told her, the time you spent explaining, they could’ve already done it. She then turned to my friend and asked if he would pay the full bill. Ridiculous service, mediocre food at most, Would NEVER come back.
