Upon entry I was greeted by the rudest woman I have ever met. She spilled wine on my fresh shirt and didn't even apologise before seating the couple behind me. Once I finally got to sit down, the three choices on the menu were not appetising: a liver with potatoes, a beansprout stew, and half a roast trotter. I expected more choice but apparently these were the choices "in season" according to the manager when I just asked for a simple omelette. I ended up choosing the liver, I wish I hadn't. My business partner chose the beansprout stew. After waiting 48 minutes and 6 seocnds (I timed it) the food finally arrived. Now I live for good liver (it is a pun, get it?) but this was undercooked, it lacked the rich, dry, texture of a classic liver, I think the choice of sauce was not quite the best either, apricot soy, also just plain boiled potatoes with no butter. This was washed down with an admittedly nice glass of red. But in total this was £82.15 for two which is far too expensive for two mains and two glasses of wine. In short: when I saw the adverts for this place filling all of Victoria station I should have trusted my gut "A place that advertises this aggressively can't be good" but my gut was rumbling so I gave in, I will never make that...

I will say the restaurant is beautiful, and plenty of people seemed to be having a great lunch. I just couldn't get over how tough the pork meat was, and how the un-rendered fat almost choked me because I couldn't chew through it. More time, lower temperature cooking would have made this dish excellent, but someone obviously rushed it.
Service from the bar area was really good, just wish the pork belly had been better. Easily a...
Read moreVery nice area with a good variety of restaurants, bars & cafes, a good place for that sort of social activity with friends and possibly families but earlier in the day, as it gets a bit too busy in the evenings.. close to victoria station where transport links are easy, literally 2min walk. Lots of security officers to keep the peace and order, those buildings are partly commercial, including one office building, and partly residential apartments with secure access control systems and security...
