I've been here twice now and I must say that is is only okay and sadly it is not a 5 star establishment as I was hoping it would be. I went at around 8am on a Sunday and there was a weird male baker (with glasses) who unintentionally gave me a dirty look when I entered the bakery which put me on the back foot.
The lady who served me was kind but a bit short with me especially when I came back with buyer's regret with the spelt croissant that looked dry as bone when closely inspected. I do admit the woman was kind enough to allow me to have a chocolate croissant for free but she huffed and puffed when giving it to me. I ate the croissant and there was far too much dough and I ended up only eating half and throwing the other half in the bin along with the spelt croissant as the taste was not what I had hoped for.
Therefore, I would happily go there for bread but they seriously need to think again with their pastries as I would have preferred to go to Co-op or Sainsbury's and buy a better quality product. Thank god the loaf I spent just over £4 was fantastic and worth the effort otherwise I would have rated this place only 1 star...I hope the business owner finds this review constructive to ensure every customer has a great experience and maybe not rest on...
Read moreI have never done this before but I am gonna have to amend the review I done before...... so it was the finest bakery and now it's not it's just an avarage bakery that is never open ansdhas changed the the breads so its like all the other boring sourdough outlets out there....... just no point in going the extra mile as I don't live near there and you never know if it's open...... Sorry to new owners it's just if it's not broken don't try and fix it .................The finest bakery in all the world. I have been eating this bread since a little girl as my hippy mum used to buy it. Well, I still buy it as nothing comes close to the flavour of the 3 seed loaf apart from all their other bread but the 3 seed is my first choice!?!. I have tried other bakers and they just don't match up.I have to travel to get to Stockwell bakery but it is all worth it. I slice and freeze the bread and it lasts well and is easy to prepare. All of their baked goods are amazing and I am glad it has found new owners to keep it going, I really was very gutted when it was gonna shut. So keep up the marvelous work, you have never let me down old...
Read moreI found this bakery on google when i was looking for organic cakes so i decided to visit today from my home at SE18. Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience and i regret visiting. The woman at the bakery was surly and unfriendly. She ignored me when i came in even though she saw me waiting my turn outside. When she eventually decided to stop staring at the pizza in front of her and serve me she did not say hello or smile and all she ever said to me in the whole transaction is 'that's £4' and 'here you are' while handing me the bags of cakes. Appalling service and behaviour. She treated me like an inconvenience coming into the shop. Its not like we know each other and are fighting but you would think we were by her attitude. Needless to say i will not be returning which is a shame as there are not a lot of organic bakery shops in London. I hope the owner/s read this review and use it to do better or ignore it and continue to lose customers. The cakes were lovely. One star is for the...
