Wow. What a gem in the heart of London. I was on my way to Gail’s for my typical soup lunch menu. Then smelt something delicious.
Turned around and then thought ‘nah, I have a plan’. Gail’s.
But then I turned around and headed for wherever this smell was coming from. And found an ADORABLE little Pho place on the corner.
Asked for a recommendation since it was my first time having Pho - I got the Rare and Cooked Beef Pho. Not spicy (unless you eat the chilli on the side - in which brace yourself a little bit unless for a one second heat that dissipates soon after).
The soup tasted so fresh and healthy and hot and exactly what a light soup is about.
A mum with two kids gave me the recommendation of putting sauce on the side plate and dipping the beef in - thank you! I’m going to tell my grandchildren this! I didn’t realise how yummy Siracha could be.
The beef was delightful, very easy to chew. The noodles were yummy, but not my favourite type of noodle now that I have tried it.
I liked the Siracha over the Sweet Hoison sauce.
It is a solid portion. Spenny for a student, which I am, but what can you expect from a restaurant in the heart of London.
Currently, in a food coma, for good reasons.
It was small but it worked to the advantage of a lot of people coming in for takeaways while I ate in felt like I was part of the team welcoming customers lol! Opportunity to speak to other customers is such a lovely bonus of a small place such as this.
Highly recommend - I am going to come back for my...
Read moreAs I returned back from Uni on a rainy day, I couldn't resist the temptation to check this tiny gem of a place nestled within a narrow alley near Holborn station. I had heard good things about the place and with the perfect weather, I decided to grab my lunch at Pho S82. I ordered their special vermicelli noodle soup and it was a soul warming treat. The place is tiny and some may find it uncomfortable but that perfectly adds to the atmosphere. I was offered the complimentary tea and before I could finish my tea, the food was served. So there was barely any waiting for the food to arrive.
The restaurant seemed to maintain high standards of hygiene and quality and the staff were very kind and hospitable.
I am definitely returning to try the other...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying the pho but then left disappointed. Visited on a Monday at around 12:30 and it was very busy. We waited for around 15mins for our meals to arrive. I ordered a hot&spicy round rice noodle but the pho came with flat noodles. When it was first served, it’s just the flat noodle with beef - no Chili at all. My pho was also served without the bean sprout side dish. The person who took our order also seemed rude and indifferent, the owner was very friendly though. There was also a £3 fee for eating in which I don’t...
