We have never written a bad review but our dealing with Pierrette was so shocking that we feel obliged to. We contacted Pierrette in January to enquire their catering services for a wedding lunch in August. Communication was efficient from Ryan and we agreed to proceed with the order. When asked about payment, we were told we did not need to settle the invoice until closer to the time.
However, we got in touch again in July to confirm details only to find that Ryan went back on his word in relation to a logistical issue. When we queried this with the venue, they dealt with this and Ryan apologised and admitted that it was his responsibility. Unfortunately, the very next day - and just one month before our wedding - he emailed us to tell us that they could not cater for our event! The reason cited was âoverbookingâ and âlow staff numbersâ. This was completely unacceptable and difficult to believe given that we contacted them and agreed everything in January. It is suspiciously coincidental that they cancelled our booking the day after the venue sent them a strongly worded email to reiterate expectations as a caterer.
The last minute cancellation - based on a vague and questionable reason - caused us huge stress at a time when we should have been finalising the details of our big day, not spending all of our time looking for a new caterer. Even our venue made clear that this is not the level of service that they wish to be associated with. Such unprofessional behaviour from Pierrette is disgraceful and I do not wish for anyone to go through the same nightmare that we did.
In the end, we managed to find a much better and much more professional caterer, which was highly recommended by the venue. A blessing...
Read moreVegans beware. Pierrette is not a vegan friendly eatery and has a very limited choice of plant based food. I've visited this eatery twice in the past week and all that has been on offer for Vegans is a sort of boring chickpea salad (The use by date was today so I wonder how long that has been on display for?) and a cheese sandwich on white bread. White bread is loaded with salt, sugar and the flour has been bleached. Sounds very appetising! I've raised by comments with the staff and was informed that the choice of plant based options is down to the Councilâs staff working from home and supposedly the demand is down. On the other hand, there was an abundance of choice of hot and cold food for those that eat flesh. Fortunately there are many other food outlets in this location that offer much better food choices for those with...
