Only went to Rosa's in Carnaby as we could no longer go to our 1st option, otherwise we would've never been. We didn't have to wait for a table which was a plus however, the place was crowded and it was loud inside! We were sat at a table for 2 which was placed very close to another table of 2 so it felt like the other 2 people were sitting with us as that's how close the 2 tables were! It was awkward and there was no privacy at all! We ordered the veggie platter to share for starters and that arrived fairly quickly and was decent. The drinks came a little later though. The staff was nice but not as helpful as I hadn't even finished my pumpkin crackers and the waitress started to take the bowl away! She hadn't even asked. Had to then ask her to put it back as I wasn't finished! The mains (between the 2 of us we had ordered rhe veg & tofu thai green curry + steamed jasmine rice and veg & tofu pad thai) arrived quickly but the thai green curry was so so spicy I could barely eat it! The menu and spiceness level has changed since I last had a thai green curry at Rosa's at a different branch but the one they served me was unbearable! I couldn't finish it all as I was tearing up and I can handle a certain amount of spice! The pad thai was okay, not as spicy. For drinks we had ordered ice bubble tea lychee and coffee + condensed milk, both of which were average. For desert, we ordered 2 sticky mango rice - they were decent, the mango wasn't as sweet and the rice just felt like only sugar was added to it, didn't feel as sweet which was a disappointment. Honestly, the combination of the spiciness of the thai green curry and the sticky mango rice made me feel nauseous at the end. The bill + service charge was extortionate! For the amount we ordered for 2 people, we paid almost £78, which is alot for the quality! And the atmosphere wasn't that great either. Not sure if Rosa's do NHS discounts but the waiters weren't as helpful. They also don't have disposable knives which we wanted to cut a cake so was a disappointment. Overall, won't visit this branch again and the atmosphere and customer serviced could be improved...
Read moreThis breaks my heart to say but we came Saturday lunch time, and this was not a good experience. They were so badly under staffed, there was essentially 3 staff members on thr floor, one greeting guests and taking orders, one doing drinks and one bringing out kitchen orders. The restaurant was full (like people sitting outside in the rain and turning customers away), and I really felt for the staff on the floor as i would of hated working in such a busy place. We waited ages for our starter order which arrived cold so we asked for it to be changed as kt was cold, staff were friendly and took the order back, but we then waited ages for it to come. The order was then wrong but by this point we couldn't get any ones attention and were hungry so just ate it. The portions were also very small compared to other rosas we've been too as well which was strange. It took a while for our plates to be cleared, we then waited another 20 minutes for our mains and could hear others around us complaining about the wait for the food, and decided to ask for the bill and pay for what we had had so far. The person who gave us the bill just said yes and gave us our bill to get us out of there. Overall, we were in the restaurant for 90 minutes and didnt even recieve our mains, or an offer to check where it was, this was hugely disappointing - especially to leave still hungry and then needing to go elsewhere. were big fans of rosas and rave about it to everyone and anyone, sadly I wouldn't recommend...
Read moreThe worst takeaways packaging ever!!
I did ordered a few takeaway dishes from Rosa Carnaby, I picked up by myself and it cost around £56.25 and there is one King Prawn Tom Kha noodle soup.
It’s clearly that there are many paper takeaway packages but the restaurant put everything in the same paper bag (even it’s double layers) and it’s quite heavy as well. Also the Tom Kha packaging had no cling film or any plastic to cover or secure the leaking.
When I was on the train just only 10 minutes walk from away from the restaurant, the tom kha soup suddenly started to leaking and dripping, and the bottom of the paper takeaway bags were also broken.
The soup split everywhere on the floor, that made me felt so embarrassing and I needed to get off the train in the next station just to clean my takeaways food and have a look what did actually happen.
So far, I needed to threw away the tom kha noodles soup without any chance to try because it was leaking so bad and the takeaway package was also defected.
To Rosa, you’ve been open the restaurant for so long and I believe you should know better than anyone that you need to secure your soup for takeaway orders.
I am really disappointed on your packaging because what happened here to me it was such a waste of time, waste of my money and food. Tbh I didn’t even expect the packaging to be this worst for £56 takeaway!
I hope you do it...
