WORST RESTAURANT I’VE EVER BEEN TOO.
Words can’t begin to describe how DISAPPOINTED I was with this meal. I was absolutely fuming when I paid £35.15 for: one single smokeshak burger: £9.90 one double smokeshak burger £12.45 one cheesy fries (£5.25) one coke (£3.90) one fifty/fifty (£3.65)
That’s not even one burger, a drink and chips each for £17.50 per person. That is a complete rip-off!!!!
Then you start thinking… well this better be a good burger and chips - IT WAS NOT!!
The beef was dry, under-seasoned and there was no Maillard. I’ve had better beef patties at McDonalds for 1/10th price. Shocking. The sauce was so so poor. There was no flavour whatsoever. If I was to describe the taste it was like 5% ketchup, 15% mayo and 80% water. Embarrassingly poor for such a high end burger. The bacon was very overcooked and tasted like it had just been sitting there in the open all weekend. Then finally the peppers. I thought I would give it a try as it was more expensive to add bacon to the other burgers, which doesn’t make any sense at all and was a decision I regret. The flavours did not work with the burger at all. It didn’t improve the texture or the taste, so I have no idea who taste tested peppers in a burger and thought that was a good idea. The only saving grace was the bun. I prefer the sesame buns, but the texture was good, but unfortunately not good enough to save the rubbish inside it. Then there were the cheese fries. The cheese was absolutely revolting I think it was are worst part of the meal, and that’s an achievement in itself. It was gunky, processed gloop. We scraped it all off our chips. Complete waste of money stick to the regular fries if for whatever reason you decide to go there. The chips texturally were okay, but no seasoning again… When you pay over £5 for chips, they need to be so much better than that. When McDonalds are out doing you at 1/4 of the price it left us feeling like we had been robbed. I’ve now written an essay already and not even got to the drinks yet…. £3.90 for a regular coke??? Are you having a laugh??? Not even refillable like at competitors five guys. What an earth is that. Then your “fresh” brewed iced tea mixed with lemonade should have just been called “weakly flavoured water” as that is what it was. Nearly £8 for two drinks is an absolute disgrace.
People are going to think I’m exaggerating here, but I am really not. I’ve spent 45mins writing this review as I am so unbelievably disappointed with this meal. How this place has got a name for itself is beyond me. I can’t describe how cross and disappointed I was. I will recommend to everyone to NOT even step foot in a Shake Shack and I certainly will never return.
If you are looking for a good burger go anywhere else in London including McDonalds which costs at least a 1/3 or the cost. This burger was genuinely the most disappointed I’ve ever been after ordering a meal out. My girlfriend just finished her first half marathon and I wanted to treat her to a meal. She said she fancied a burger and as I have just recently moved in to the Camden area, we thought we would try shake shack and we were so unbelievably disappointed. She didn’t even finish the burger it...
Read moreI had a very upsetting experience at Shake Shack Camden Town on Sunday, 26 October at around 3:20 PM. While helping my 5-year-old son in the accessible toilet (with permission, as my elderly mother cannot use stairs), a male employee entered without knocking, shouted at us, and told us to leave, even though my son was undressed and extremely frightened.
I was truly shocked that this could happen in London, and in a well-known family restaurant like Shake Shack. The manager apologized but refused to provide the employee’s name, which made it impossible to report the incident properly.
I later sent a formal complaint to Shake Shack UK’s customer feedback email but received no reply or acknowledgment at all, which was deeply disappointing.
This incident is a serious violation of human privacy. No one should ever enter a toilet while it is occupied, regardless of the reason. Not every disability is visible, and I sincerely hope Shake Shack takes this matter seriously, reviews the CCTV footage, and provides proper staff training on respect, empathy, and customer care, especially when dealing with families, children, and...
Read moreWorkers were rude and inconsiderate of that fact that I waited 30+ mins for my order when I ordered it in store and saw multiple people receive their orders even ate and left ahead of me with no sincere apology ?! Absolute appalling I was sooo hungry hadn’t eaten all day and wanted to treat myself to some shack shack only to end up leaving with a bad taste in my mouth i planed to eat in but I had to take it away as I was so annoyed and angry with my experience. When they finally brought my order it was wrong and had bacon in it when Is specifically said I don’t eat pork to the cashier… which made my wait even longer. All the workers where just standing around doing nothing and not even apologetic for there mistake… I’m really not happy as I love shake shack and this really ruined my night after a long day of working it’s just not acceptable and all I was offered was a coke for all the time I wasted there. If I’m wasn’t so hungry I would have just asked for a refund and called it a day ! I won’t be eating here ever again after this terrible experience, never experienced such a...
