The Lobster Spaghetti You Simply Can’t Miss When Shopping at Harrods!

This restaurant has a wonderfully cosy and classy ambiance, exactly what you’d expect from a high-end Italian establishment. The interior is elegant, with a sleek staircase lined from top to bottom with mirrors, adding a sense of sophistication. However, while the atmosphere was impeccable, the dining experience left something to be desired. The bread starters were disappointingly cold, making it impossible to spread the butter properly—something that should be a basic standard. Portion sizes were another letdown. The ravioli dish came with only four pieces, which was frankly laughable for £23. The lobster spaghetti, priced at £46, had very little meat—only half a lobster—which felt stingy given the cost. For these prices, I would expect far more generous portions. Also the salmon dish we had was very blank. The amount of sauce was limited and. It tasted like a salmon I put into the oven myself as there is so little sauce. To top it off, the service charge has recently increased from 12.5% to 13.5%, which is quite steep. My bill came to £226, with the service charge adding £27. I decided not to pay it due to my disappointment with the food, yet the waiter returned to tell me I was short. When I explained my reasoning, he questioned me about it. While service charges are discretionary, I found the interaction uncomfortable. Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the food and value for money don’t quite match the high-end image. I’d suggest they be more generous with portions to justify the prices. I note that the food pictures in the main picture cost £200 so manage your expectations.

Protect yourself from this waitress named Erica/Erika because she will steal the keys from your coat before giving it back to you after you complain to her. This restaurant is racist. Besides, there are many places in London where you can get better Italian food at this price. What happened was that I arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 this Thursday evening and two of my friends were already inside. They told me that the waitress named Erica was very rude to them, so I called the waitress over to ask what was going on. After she apologized to us, we paid and prepared to leave, and she was the only waiter standing at the door to hand our coats back to us. For some reason, my friend's coat was on a hanger on the first floor and mine was on a hanger on the second floor, so Erica had to go upstairs to get my coat. What’s interesting is that the stairs in this restaurant are fully mirrored, so I witnessed the whole process of her taking my coat. After Erica took out my clothes, she didn’t take them directly to me, instead she turned the clothes in circles and sorted it out first. After a few seconds, she went downstairs and handed me my coat. Why do I suspect that this waitress took the key? Because I am a very suspicious person, I always check my pocket to make sure my valuables are there when I leave from any place. Also, there were many stuffs in the pocket where the key is, but only the key is missing. Apart from that, the food was quite satisfactory. I still recommend Da Mario’s cuttlefish noodles. At least there is no waiter waiting to steal your keys.

The rudest staff I have ever come across in my life . We dined out here as a family of 5 for a 21st birthday dinner. The lady at the reception was very accommodating but after she showed us to our table it all went down hill. A waiter who brought our mains to us came back with parmesan cheese. We asked if this was vegetarian as we are strict vegetarians. The waiter was incredibly impatient and said 'you either want it or you don't' which disgustingly disrespectful. We asked politely once again if it's vegetarian and asked him to check with the chef. The waiter replied with 'it comes from a cow, I think it is, it probably is vegetarian' and started grating the cheese on my pasta without asking. As strict vegetarians, we cannot follow his estimated guess. It was so unprofessional and we were all speechless. I immediately asked for the manager and a tall gentleman approached the table. Firstly he addressed me as darling which I thought was incredibly patronising. I explained his waiters behaviour and the situation. The managers shoddy reply was 'the parmesan has animal stock and most of our vegetarian customers eat it'. At this point we were very much annoyed. I let the manger know that I did not ask for his advice which was outrageous of him to do so but I was reporting his staffs behaviour in which he gave no reply to. He shrugged his shoulders and the first waiter was standing by his side shaking his head saying 'I didn't say that' even though there was 4 witnesses. The next problem came about when the next waiter who handed out our small dessert menus poked the cardboard paper in my eye. He was completely unaware of what he had done until I pointed it out. The waiter gave me a very cold 'sorry' and walked away. What I didn't understand is firstly, why are the waiters not LOOKING at what they are doing and secondly, what is the need to be that close to me. Personal space exists. On the topic of personal space, this restaurant had no space! All of the tables were crammed together. We sat at a table on the right with a view of the souvenir shop across the road. Another waiter was serving behind me to another table. Walking past 3 times, his body bumped into my chair and caused my chair to jerk forward. Thanks to that motion, I ended up with pasta stains on my dress. So thank you to management for creating a further dry cleaning cost for me. If your waiters are unable to move around the table in a safe and respectable manner without harming anyone then you should change the seating plans. The service was very slow and it was impossible to get staffs attention. The manager who took our order was arrogant and did not write down our drinks order of pineapple juice and diet Coke and he had to be asked again for this. As they did not arrive. The staff in general were very rude and abrupt and there were no smiles! The atmosphere of the restaurant was dull and generally it was not a nice place to dine. Food was mediocre. I can name far better istalian restaurants. I DO NOT RECCOMEND. My baby sisters birthday celebrations were ruined thanks to the awful service and...

Overrated place. Rude staff. I ordered the most expensive beef on the menu. I asked my meat to be medium. When my steak came I was well done. Not even medium well. I was so hungey that I instantly decided I’ll have it, but just wanted to let the wait know that their kitchen made a mistake. Anyway a guy in a suit came instead of the waiter. I told him, this steak is quite dry and I asked for medium which is pink from the centre. You guys will not believe what he said, he said cut it from the middle, don’t show me hoe it is from the side. I wanted to smash the plate on his face. I was the customer, and I was only telling him to take notice. Anyway I cut the steak from the middle just to prove my point. To which he replied see you can see a shade of pink. I told him I am having the steak. To which he turned his back and left. My husband ordered the linguine with clams and he called the waitress and identified that his pasta is over cooked and he was hoping it would be al dente. Before the waitress could reply the same guy sprang from behind and said we over cook our pasta because in London people don’t like al dente and they say it’s under cooked. If you wanted al dente, you should’ve informed. We said okay you may leave, we want to have our food. After the meal we asked for the check, he was the only one at that time, but he didn’t come to our table. After 5 min another waiterss came with the bill. It was full bill and obviously nothing was waived and honestly we didn’t even expect anything to be waived either. My husband politely told the waitress to please remove the 12.5 discretionary service fee. She was rather surprised. She asked any particular reason you are removing this; to which my husband said the man in the back knows what happened. Kindly ask him. Just remove the service charge and give me my bill so I can go. She went and got the service fee reversed.

The whole exercise of writing the review is to let the management know what their staff is doing (please look into this) and letting people know what they might head into when they go and spend their hard earned money.

Terrible Experience with Rude Front Desk Staff

If I could give 0 stars, I definitely would. My recent encounter with the front desk guy left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. The level of rudeness and arrogance displayed was simply unacceptable.

Upon arriving at the establishment and inquiring about table availability, I was met with a curt and impolite "NO" from the front desk guy. His tone and demeanour were both condescending and dismissive. It's as if I had inconvenienced him by merely asking a question. He is an employee there and get paid, does he get paid to reject his customers? I am sorry for the boss.

Feeling disheartened, my companions and I decided to check online for available tables ourselves. Lo and behold, there was a table listed as available in just 30 minutes! This discovery left us baffled and quite frankly, angered. It became evident that the front desk guy had no intention of assisting us or providing accurate information.

The whole experience could have been completely different if the front desk guy had just taken a moment to inform us about the upcoming table availability. A simple, courteous response would have sufficed. Instead, his blatant disregard for customer service left us feeling disrespected and undervalued as patrons.

I strongly urge the management of this establishment to address the behaviour and attitude of their front desk staff. It is disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism and common courtesy in a customer-facing role. Until there is a noticeable improvement in the way customers are treated, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

In conclusion, my visit here was marred by the appalling behaviour of the front desk guy. It's a shame that one individual's rudeness can overshadow an otherwise potentially pleasant experience. I hope my feedback serves as a wake-up call for the management to prioritise customer service and ensure that others don't have to endure the same unfortunate encounter I had.

P.S. For your reference:The guy was there helping the front desk on around 6:30 pm on...
