🚇 Chalk Farm 🍺 £4.60 Fosters The Sir Robert Peel is located next to Queen's Crescent Market in Gospel Oak near Kentish Town, North London. The nearest Tube is Chalk Farm, Kentish Town West overground is also close by. This pub was built in 1863 and is named after the founder of the Metropolitan Police Service, established in 1829. Queen's Crescent which sits adjacent to the pub is where John Sainsbury opened his second shop in 1872 and in 1956 where Shanta Pathak opened her first kitchen making Curries. This is a decent sized traditionally decorated one bar pub. The servery is situated on the back wall and is centrally located. The decor consists of a number of portioned areas, a lino and wood floor, loads of seating and some LED lighting running around the walls and ceiling. On the left hand side of the bar is a Pool Table, to right is a Dartboard plus there are a number of screens dotted around the walls showing live sport. One unique feature of the pub was the Bully cardboard cutouts, the pub manager knew Jim Bowen’s manager who donated a few. At the back of the pub is a partially covered beer garden. The beer selection was a straightforward line up of well known keg favourites. I decided on a Fosters, my pint was great, price point was reasonable at under a fiver. This is a wet-led pub that doesn’t serve food. We arrived around 7.30pm on a sunny early Saturday evening in May. The pub was busy with a lively upbeat atmosphere and a loyal local crowd in attendance. I had a brief chat with the pub manager who was lovely, then pulled up a stool at one of the drinking ledges to enjoy my pint. The service was on point, the team on duty were welcoming and friendly. Visiting The Robert Peel was a nice local pub experience, although we were not regulars, we were made to feel very welcome. There is plenty to keep you entertained with Pool, Darts and live sport. The beer is reasonably priced which keeps the good faith between Guv’nor and punters. Enjoyed it here, worth a look if you’re in the area. 📅 18th May 2024 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

The best! Faye & Meghan were absolutely brilliant! And the Patrons, amazing! Sir Robert Peel is definitely looking down with much pride. It's become one of our favourite places! They've got US Open Tennis 🎾 showing & Horse racing! It's a must visit for sure. We even met someone who's visiting for the 1st time in 50 years. It's Family friendly. Clean bathrooms too. Drinks chilled & the jukebox wow! 10 out 10 fantabulasoooo!!!

Perfect host, went in for a game of darts and the landlady couldn't be more accommodating as most of the regulars were watching the football but she went out of her way to switch everything on got me so I could throw some arrows! Lovely down to earth people 😊😊😊
